I recently started playing through Far Cry 2 on PC and I like much of what the game is trying to do. If everyone always trying to kill you and malaria weren't part of the game, it would be a much better game. The combat sequences are great, but I don't have to one every 30 seconds.

Here's the thing, the spiky ball doesn't result if you extend all the points. The thing is that a sphere is defined as all the points (in a 3-dimensional space) equidistant from a central focus point. Since these points are infinitesimal in size, there are an infinite number of them. Spikes would appear if you only extended a limited number of the points. But since there are an infinite number of points, there are an infinite number of "spikes" coming up as well.

Therefore, you wouldn't end up with a spiky ball so much as an inflating balloon. So yeah, the bigger you inflate the balloon, the less amount of balloon material is in any one spot. This is the proper analog as to why stars are dimmer the further away they are.  As a side note, stars are capable of rotation so that could also explain a lack of blind spots if spiking should occur.
I was about to address the issue of extending all of the points on a sphere, but you summed it up pretty well.

As he said, extending all points outward on a sphere would just result in a bigger sphere assuming you extended all points an equal distance outward.

GTA4: Ballad of Gay Tony. All of the clubs you go to are great. The Malibu in Vice City is great as well.

Stacking. I've played two acts/scenes or whatever they're called and I can't do it anymore. All the solutions feel the same and for some reason the framerate is driving me insane. Maybe it's accentuated by the movement but I can't stand it.

The quick looks are the same as they've ever been. The only difference is the past 2 months have had boring games and the quick looks are reflecting that.

Also, don't comment on the quality of their gameplay. Many of the quick looks are done after they've played an hour or two of the game. Do you really care if their play isn't flawless. If Brad forgets to use a med pack, does really affect the quality of the video? I think you can assume it's in the game and he just forgot, it doesn't have to be explicitly shown.

I feel like all of these threads will cease to exist once good games start coming out and more forum members are playing them instead of complaining about everything on the site.

Bionic Commando Rearmed, Braid, Castle Crashers, and Geometry Wars 2 are all classics. Never mind Galaga Legions

I hope Apple doesn't go the way Microsoft went when Bill Gates left the ship to Steve Ballmer.

Didn't MS just announce porfits of like $6 billion for the last quarter? I'd say they're doing pretty well.

True, but the company lacks direction under Ballmer. The Kin was a failure, Windows Phone 7 is stagnant,  Microsoft Surface was canned, Zune isn't all to popular, and Kinect is going nowhere.
Windows Phone 7 is one of the more interesting things Microsoft are doing and it's very much so in its infancy still. Android was pretty barebones and lacked apps for quite some time too, now it's not far from iOS in terms of apps. (mostly caught up really, aside from certain games)
I totally agree with you about Windows Phone 7. After reading the exhaustive Anandtech review of WIndows 7, I was considering getting a Win7 Phone for a while. I just wish Microsoft was more aggressive with it. The Nokia deal was exciting at first, but nothing has come of it yet. Hopefully we'll be hearing about some new phones in the fall.
