@sweep: If you don't appreciate the podcast you don't have to tune in. It's one feature on a website with a dozen others. Dan has always gone to wrestling for his analogies and that isn't changing, and since Jeff is also a wrestling fan and they're communicating to one another it's bound to keep happening. I could understand you asking them to explain the wrestlers after they made the analogies but your coming across as, "can't you morons think harder?" Hey at least the podcast isn't locked behind the pay wall.
Constructive criticism has always been both allowed and encouraged here. That's in the community rules which, incidentally, I helped write.
At no point was I suggesting that wrestling was bad or enjoyed by "morons" as you infer, I merely suggested that a broader range of references would appeal to a wider audience.
I really wish there was less dependency on wrestling to explain everything. I know the hosts are big WWE fans, but as someone who doesn't enjoy wrestling it feels super lazy to constantly describe everything with "so he's the [random wrestler name] of the dragon ball universe" over and over again.
I'm sure the venn diagram of people who enjoy Dragon Ball and people who enjoy Wrestling is almost a fucking circle, but can we try to use our imaginations a little more when coming up with analogies?
