@jakob187 LoL art always felt really soulless to me, like badly drawn anime. Not quite as bad as something like BlazBlue, but I never really liked it. Dota2 has a sort of fairy quality that really appeals to me. To each his own I guess. I agree on HoN though, that game looks turrible, both technically and artistically.

Carrie's a real good voice of reason.

I'm surprised and impressed to hear you say that, considering that in addition to her saying she grew a thick skin, she also more or less said "but this is only my experience and I'm not going to pretend that it's the same for every woman, I'm not going to say that the way I deal with stupid sexist stuff I do encounter is more valid than the way anyone else does."

But let's not turn this into another sexism flame war already, I really just want to talk about the cake story. Jeff has some fucking wild stories, but god dammit if this isn't the craziest fucking thing I've heard out of Giant Bomb. And it just fucking kept going! All of the gory details about how nice the cake was! How his fiancee set it up in the bedroom! And then she left the room to let him do it! I honestly don't know where this can possibly be escalated to next. I think someone would have to send them an actual shit pie to top this week of horror-musement. And then they'd have to flush that down the toilet or something. Fuck. I am both sickened and SO CURIOUS knowing that there is a picture of the aftermath of the sat-on cake. A livestream for the ages.

Not sure if this will help much, but have you checked your power settings and set it to high performance as opposed to something like balanced?

This was the first thing that came to my mind, never neglect the stupid things you might just overlook.

Said it for me! There might be an argument for a 6 year cycle, judging by wikipedia: 201020041998199219861980.

Dustforce is very similar to SMB and just about as good, too.

Spelunky seems to fit in that category.

Spelunky has a much harsher penalty for failure than either of those games though...

OP mentioned liking Binding of Isaac in his post, that seems like a fair point of comparison to Spelunky.

Other, because you have bad taste and didn't include Tomorrow Never Knows, the best Beatles song. No Rubber Soul or Revolver anywhere on that list? For shame.

Qualifying my yes with a couple things, namely that going back like one or two notches is okay and feel free to go nuts if there actually doesn't happen to be anyone behind you. If, however, you decide to do even that small amount of leaning back during a part of the flight where the person behind you has a drink on their tray, you are an asshole.

I'm pretty sure that was just nonsense

I'm so torn on this. On one hand, all of that interview was nonsense. On the other, wasn't their footage of that game in the actual interview? Or was that something else entirely? I also really want that augmented reality bonus soda app to be real.

On mobile, not going to go into detail here, but you are straight up wrong. Blizzard doesn't have any real sorcerors on payroll casting a glamour on the gaming population. Their games sell well because they are good games with design ideas that define genres.

This is correct more or less. Diablo 3 may not be quite up to par for the people who played D2 for thousands of hours, but I enjoyed the 30 or so I spent on it. This is really the only one that I can see a legitimate complaint for, but it was stable after about 2 days.

SC2 isn't ripping anyone off and they certainly haven't divided one game into three - Starcraft had 30 missions, Brood War had 28. Care to guess how many WoL and HotS have? 26 and 27! It almost seems like they're just giving each faction a full-game length campaign! The horror! That's nowhere near the 10 each you'd expect to see in a game divided as OP says. Actually, with the hyperbole he put in with OG SC being three games for the price of one, WoL apparently only had 3.33 missions! Duder, you didn't even get through 20% of the game!

WoW expansions are hardly yearly, I think the fastest turnaround they've ever had between two was 18 months. It's still the best of the theme park-style MMOs, and has some pretty fine PvE content too.

Based solely on games released specifically for that system? Probably the 3DS, but Persona 4 Golden really is a superlative game. If you count the fact that you get access to the PSP and PS1 RPGs you can get off of PSN, it's gotta be the Vita. If we're counting the DS's catalog too, then they're probably even, but that does seem a little weird considering that you have to track down physical copies.
