I think it's a beautiful presentation, wrapped around a fairly standard action game. It's dragged down by a thoroughly unlikable cast of characters brought to life by mostly abysmal voice acting. Some of the villains are pretty charming. But, after that initial staff meeting, they never really have much fun with them. The combat is more mandatory than usual, which is bad because it's pretty dull combat. Slowly lining up headshots and occasionally blocking is not my idea of fun for hours at a time. C+

I'd like to watch more, but they don't really make good action shows anymore. Everything is either comedy on TV or really extreme edgy violence on streaming. There are very few shows that split the difference the way Avatar used to do.

Forced stealth segments are never fun for me. not even in actual stealth game. I love using stealth as a tactic, but I like it to be my choice and if I screw it up i want to have to deal with the combat consequences of being caught. "Game Over, You were spotted/Dammit Fisher I'm pulling you out" is a sign of bad design

There were no characters in this movie. There was no story. And worst of all, the fight choreography was incredibly weak. MK 11 did a much better job of... just about everything.

Depends on the game and the consequences of falling.

In Dark Souls? Absolutely.

In Spider-Man: Miles Morales? Not so much.

I want to create my own. I want an action rpg with a really good character editor and power system that's on par with Champions Online's level of flexibility.

I'm a little behind on podcasts since I don't have a commute right now. Where did Austin most recently appear?

Do we think Giant Bomb will do a Spoilercast for Death Stranding and is that something you'd want to listen to?

Hamburger is a kind of sandwich.

Everyone's talking about the bread but what makes a hamburger is the patty. If you put a hamburger patty between two slices of rye bread it's still a burger. (Just not an ideal one) You put slices of smoked turkey and cheddar cheese on a bun it doesn't make it a burger. it's still a sandwich.

Hamburger is a subset of sandwiches that requires a patty.

I hate to say this friend, but you're probably growing up.

What might have seemed epic and cool and world defining when you were a kid, just doesn't "do it" as an adult.

I feel like it's less about growing up and more about it just feeling tired and predictable after a while. So many of the characters are just carbon copies of characters from other games. There's like a trope quota they all hit with zero self awareness and it just starts to become stale.
