With the release of USFIV, I finally put the time in to actually learn how to play a fighting game for real this time. Almost 400h in now, and absolutely loving it. The thought that I've only been able to achieve semi-competency with two characters in this timeframe speaks to the potential longevity of the game as well. Though I definitely spent the majority of that time gaining a general understanding and working on theory rather than learning characters. Hopefully that means I can create a diverse roster a lot easier than going one by one.

Awesomely addictive game with great music and amazing gameplay. I unlocked everything on Vita and almost everything on PS3 just for fun. Highly recommended.

This is technically not a 2014 release. But it only came up on Vita by then, so that's when I played it. These games are still a lot of good fun. I suck, but that's pretty much part of the charm at this point.

Guys it took them a long time, but this game is finally what it was supposed to be all along. It went from a good game with huge glaring flaws, to a legitimately great game this year. And I love it.

I beat this game in a weekend of very long sessions. Glued to the screen the entire time. It is most definitely a good game. But I came out of it feeling empty and apathetic towards the whole thing after the credits rolled. And I have yet managed to make it all the way through a second playthrough which is a stark comparison to previous entries. Some of this is me burning out, but it's not very difficult for me to find things I outright dislike about the game either. A very mixed bag for me, but overall it was alright.
