"Ok screw using a keyboard for this game.  My spacebar on my G15 is a piece of crap, it's too high so when I try to jump off walls the jump doesn't register in time so I just slide down it.  My laptop is good though because the keys aren't as high.  Anyway so I plugged a gamepad into my PC it should go better now. "

Yeah, Gamepad is totally essential to games like this for me. I did give the keyboard a try just to see how it would handle, and it seemed to work well enough. But I definately always use gamepads for things like platforming, racing...  and... other stuff..?

No man, it's not fixed. You should hold out for a while, and check up on it later. The patches have barely fixed anything. The game has terrible performance on computers that are more than capable of running the game at it's max, when it's at it's minimum. They have issues to say the least...

"
Depends on your hardware specs. I'm getting 30-60 fps with a GTS 250 running at max except for anti-alias set to 2x (anti-alias is a performance hog) and set at 1680x1050 resolution. Its playable.  Granted the optimization doesn't add up with the lack of any graphical changes, but you can't expect PC games to support hardware that's older than 3 years, especially in this day and age where PC ports are unoptimized as hell. "

It is playable, as I am playing it. However, the perfomance that I am getting on my rig and other's is awful. My computer is brand new, with a gtx 460 8gb ram and an i7. 30 -45 fps and an every ten second stutter on LOD load is unacceptable on my, and many other peoples systems, is it not? I am certainly playing it, and it is fun, but I am suggesting that anyone who has not already bought this, stay away until some more problems have been fixed.

I haven't crashed once. There are performance issues, but after fiddling with the settings I have found a very nice balance, and it's running very well now.
However, one of my friend's cannot start the game at all without crashing.

@Karkarov:
Yo mang, theres an offline mode, works pretty well. Also most of the things you are complaining about are optional things that most people would consider a benefit, you can choose to ignore them.

Aside from that, you say it said games for windows on the box but doesnt acctually include GfWL....

have you ever USED GfWL? you should consider it a godsend that it uses steam instead....

I totally agree with you, I have enjoyed giantbomb for quite a while, and now I suddenly find that I am locked out of some "paid" videos. Madness I say.

And all these people calling you a troll. MADNESS!

You were very polite and really didn't say anything that should encourage flame. But this IS the internet, so any honest (and completely warranted) criticism is first labeled as trolling, and then trolled out of existance, by fanatic website loyalists.

Madness I tell you, madnesss....

Whiskey's subscription isn't some throw-away token deal to scrap up extra cash like other site's. This is the vast majority of their income/profit. The visitors they are making money off of ARE the subscribers. If you can't see why we deserve exclusive content in this scenario, you're blind. "

If you cant see how they make money off of the "free visitors"  YOU are blind. How the hell do you think MOST websites even exist?

In January I will start attending school for game design, and honestly, I am not that worried about crunch time. As Amilmitt said, I believe that overtime doesn't really become an issue until you dick around all the time. If you show up early and get crackin you can be out of there early. The workplace is filled with gamers. Creative, talented, and diverse people with similar interests and goals.

To work in such an environment is a fantastic proposition, the time you spend at your job may not really seem like a crunch or a waste of your time if you really love the work you do and the people you do it with.

Besides for that, I plan on creating games with a small group, on a small budget, and releasing digitally. This would alleviate your "multi-million-dollar profit problem"

Not every game is crunched out in 2 years by a giant company. If you hadn't noticed, the digital marketplace is growing steadily, and so are indies. When you are an independant Crunch time becomes your own definition of crunch time.
