maybe i'm not far enough into the game, but i haven't found myself dealing with my homies enough to have any interest one way or the other. i've been so engrossed in playing the game that i haven't even paid attention to what my any sidekicks look or sound like (not that i'd care anyway).

@Hurricrane: (a) yes, i am insane. (b) 'corporate thievery' has been around for a long time and is not going to go away because some guy on the internet doesn't want to accept to an Xbox Live TOS agreement. i addressed this in my 2nd post in this topic, but i guess it can't hurt to repeat myself. the problems of society are so much greater than something like this that it is apparently beyond some people's comprehension. at this point, i find it far more important to have something like this particular video game service to occupy my time than fight an irrelevant fight about a TOS agreement. you want corporations to stop being evil money-grubbing scum? sorry, pal, but that bird has flown... unless there is some sort of revolution or something. there is no way that fighting these little battles is going to make any difference, so i say sit back and enjoy the show as the bus teeters over the edge of the cliff. that's what i'm doing... and while i'm at it i'll be able to download content and use other Xbox Live services.

@Buckfitches: actually i am not European (just have a Dutch screen name) so the TOS does apply to me and I have already agreed to it. I just don't see it as a big deal in the grand scheme of things. society is FUBAR, anyway, with corporations and the rich so fully in control of things that the point of no return has clearly been reached and breached some time ago. this could have been stopped many years ago, but it wasn't... so now people should trade away the ability to play video games in the vain attempt to stop the snowball's roll after it has already gained far too much steam? I disagree. the ability that hackers have to acquire people's information and destroy lives however is something that could easily result in even the deplorable state of lowly plebes like myself becoming unbearable. it is not through fear that i make my suggestion, but pragmatism. To paraphrase George Carlin: "You have no rights. rights aren't rights if someone can take 'em away. All we have in this country is a list of temporary privileges."

i in no way condone what Microsoft is doing with this move, but making a huge issue out of it and drawing attention to it is exactly the kind of thing that might result in a giant PSN-like hack from a group of dedicated, skilled, misguided people. and while that will certainly hurt Microsoft to a certain extent, who it really hurts are the people who have their info compromised. Therefore, I urge all to drop this matter, as not being able to get in on a class-action lawsuit is far outweighed by potential breach of personal information, not to mention the use of (what I think is) a quality product/service.

87. carjacking a Bulldog with a gun turret on top from a restricted area at the very beginning of the game is an outstanding idea.

lots of interesting input in this story's comments. i pre-ordered and have in my possession the game, but have been holding off playing for a while. kind of happy with that decision at this point. will likely get going after the next update, assuming no huge issues arise.
