Top 10 Video Game Soundtracks (That Got Stuck in my Head)

In order of how often the songs would get stuck in my head.

List items

  • My former favorite GOAT (and still top 3 contender) made the top spot. Weird. It helps that the soundtrack is astounding, with great themes for each member of the huge cast.

  • I had this album in my phone for years. It's such a good collection of catchy yet ambient electronic tracks, that envoke a sense of future tech. I wonder if it's still in my phone. Let me check... nope. I should fix that.

  • Burn. My. Dread.

  • The soundtrack was several times better than the game. I get why people like the game, and I didn't hate it, but I also didn't love it. 'Megalovania' though, that's a track that would put this game in the Top 10 alone.

  • Why can't I find this soundtrack anymore? Gah! So frustrating.

  • The first video game soundtrack to really make me appreciate them as an art onto themselves. 'Red Wings,' 'Theme of Love,' and even the overworld theme were far better than the standard fare of the time, or many of the standard fare of today.

  • Learning to play Corridors of Time on the guitar may have overly influenced the position of this title. It is a great soundtrack, easily up there or surpassing other Squaresoft games, but for some reason it didn't really hit me at release.

  • Yeah, the other Mega Man games had some pretty damn memorable soundtracks, but this one got so stuck in my head so strongly that I'd let my mind go blank and the stage select riff will enter my head. The charged blaster shot is also ingrained there, as is probably the entire soundboard of the introductory level. Whrrrrr... duh duh-duh duh!

  • Like most things Persona, the 4th game takes a small backseat to the 3rd iteration of the franchise for me. It's a better game in many ways, but it never quite reached the enjoyment level of the 3rd game for me, including the soundtrack.

  • I feel like this one might be cheating. The soundtrack wasn't necessarily made for the game, but it did introduce me to some classics that I ended up listening to for a couple years. It also made for one my grandfather's favorite birthday presents. He went out and bought an Ink Spots CD after leaving it in his car for months and reminisced fondly of his youth.
