I have learned to detect click bait articles and to not.. click them. I don't want to promote this way of artificially creating controversy for the sake of generating money for the site. Also this gender representation thing really sounds like quotas to me. You better have this number of this and this or we'll be mad at you!

Its cheaper and easier to market to an existing fanbase. Its easier to create new content while using a proven gameplay basis. Hell, most of the fans of a franchise will buy the sequel without waiting for reviews or forum discussion to figure out if its any good. It basically prints money. The video game industry is already near the level of Holywoods ability to deliver sequels like its toys from a factory.

My general rule is that video games are to be played. That goes with good gameplay. Narrative can be created by the player with very little foundation by the devs. HL2 seems like a good example of a dev nailing both elements.

Lets remember that all humans, no matter of race, gender, sexuality, religion, culture, class can be good, bad and somewhere in between. I don't see a problem in anyone portrayed as the bad guy. Its this one person, it doesn't represent the entire group.

Closing to the start of the annual expo the crew has started stating their opinion on E3. Generally it feels that they are tired from it. I can imagine that running around for appointments and interviews is a lot of work, but still fun. They aren't obliged of covering everything, its GB after all. Personally i can't wait for it. I love watching the press conferences. The sweet montages and then for the inevitable embarrassing moments. GBs coverage is sublime too.

So, how do you guys feel about the video game circus showing its best and worst?

Its sad that you can't make a big budget movie without catering to families and kids. Still enjoyed that parts that didn't have brave American soldiers running around. It still had its purpose of showing how humanity can't cope with disasters and just has to endure them until it ends.

Great, as long as she fits the GBs crew vibe.
