" Just completed DS2, (I know, took me long enough..) great game but there's one thing that really got on my nerves.. Right after the closing credits your informed that there are at least 11 other facilities containing markers that are being produced or have been produced. This really bothered me, I personally hate it anytime games or movies end with "but wait, there's more!" it's just a really sloppy way to set up a sequel. It's not just that though. The fact that there's so many other markers yet the security and siginificance of the marker isaac just destroyed was somehow greater beacause..? ..And if there's so many of them why was the main antagonist acting as if it were the end of world when issac started to demolish it. Surely they would have sacrificed that marker to ensure that the only person capable destroying the rest of them was taken care of..  I know that marker my have been a prototype or whatever but still.. that ending really got to me. Anyone else feel that way? or am alone on this one? "
Its greater because of its size and power. Its also where convergence was supposed to happy.   Again because its the biggest and most likely most powerful. And they all ready have the info they need to make more. They do not need him any more. Thats why they soldiers at the start where told to kill him.  "

And it was located in the Sprawl, one of the largest population centers in the galaxy.  This ending is common because it puts your accomplishments into focus, you realize you've struck a major blow, but have a long way to go.  It also makes your enemy in the next game seem more powerful, conniving and imposing than they otherwise would have.

It's definitely overused, and rarely as well as Metal Gear Solid, but it's effective at getting a point across.  I didn't think it was needed in DS2 though, it was pretty much implied and easily assumed that they had more or could work on more elsewhere, especially since the one in the first game had been GovSec created as well, long ago, so it seemed a bit on the nose for me.

The Wright family motto is, appropriately enough, "A mind conscious of right."

Interesting stuff.

Man, you people need to read The Zombie Survival Guide.  Shotguns are ineffective at destroying brains, and guns in general will attract too much attention and require ammo, which will be scarce.  If you can only have one weapon, melee is clearly the best choice.   Getting a head shot from anywhere farther than 10 feet is a lot harder than it looks. Things you can easily find that would work nicely are baseball bats (to clear the way) or a fire axe. Crowbars are useful as a last resort because they can also help maneuver through the environment.

@nutta27:
Nah, it's not weird.  Dead Space isn't scary, it's intense.  You're put in high pressure situations with few resources and little time to react, so you tense up.  It's the difference between the scares in the old Resident Evils and the more recent ones (since 4).  It's more about thinking quickly against overwhelming odds than jump scares and psychological fears.

I played through it pretty quickly, but I found myself tensing up constantly near the end of both games.  It wasn't relaxing, it was nerve-wracking.

@McGhee_the_Insomniac: I agree that they intentionally pulled back due to previous experiences, but I don't think Jack's sex scene would've been all that wild anyway, considering her romance story arc.  Unless you mean the quick and dirty you can do with her; that should have been nuts.

"Commander Shepard is not gay, in the same way that Nathan Drake isn't gay and Lara Croft isn't a lesbian. That's not because Bioware disapproves of homosexuality or anything like that, it's merely the direction they have chosen for their character. Dragon age gives you a lot more freedom over those choices because you are literally creating the character at the beginning of the game. Your character speaks rarely, and largely acts as an empty vessel for you to direct through the game, a decision which allows you to impose a personality of your own discretion upon him/her. I think Mass Effect is a lot more definitive about Commander Shepard being a consistent entity - so whilst your Commander Shepard and mine may vary in the choices they make throughout the game, paragon or renegade, male or female, the underlying persona remains constant. I played as lady Shepard and, despite my best efforts, I could not instigate a lesbian romance with Miranda. I got with Garrus though, so it all worked out.  "

It seems sort of dumb that you can decide whether your character is male or female but not their sexuality. If their gender isn't set in stone why is their sexuality? "
You can also choose what type of person (or alien) Shepard is attracted to, if he's "racist" against other species, or if he respects authority, but not if he's gay or straight.  That's a cop-out answer, Sweep.  You also choose things that Shepard has no control over, like his military career, his innate talents (biotic/tech), and his origin.

" Can't you be gay as a lady Shepard though? Couldn't you at least do it with Liara in the first one?  "

Technically Liara is "asexual", though I'd assume if FemShep was attracted to her, she might have lesbian leanings.

@Mordukai:Sounds like you knew what you were gonna do when you made this thread, and just used it as an excuse to rip it apart, especially with your smarmy responses about having ready access to t-shirts and how you don't even pay for your own Happy Hour, you badass, you.

I don't care about watching dudes get drunk on Friday night, I have plans on Friday night.  I only got the subscription for the mobile site, HD videos, and the promise that the site will get a full HTML5 overhall in the coming months.  I'm on the mobile site more than most users here, I think. "

You do know that they archive the Happy Hour, right?  I never watch it live, but I still think it was totally worth the subscription fee.

@alternate:  I think the colon is why this should be Dragon Age: Champion or something.  Dragon Age is the series, and the subtitle denotes which game it is.

The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the RIng wasn't followed by The Lord of the RIngs 2, because that makes no sense.

The Matrix Reloaded wasn't followed by The Matrix 3.

Batman Begins wasn't followed by Batman 2.

He's not saying he wants it to be Dragon Age: Origins 2.  He's saying he wanted Dragon Age: Subtitle.  (Also why it's dumb that they called Awakening DA:O - Awakening... though I suppose they wanted to emphasize that it was an expansion pack, basically, and not a standalone game.)

What bothers me more is when games or movies are numbered, and the higher number is actually a prequel, like Metal Gear Solid 3 coming before Metal Gear Solid.
