I prettymuch avoid really stylus heavy games, but I just hold the stylus in my left hand and if I have to use the d pad i just keep it between my middle and pointing fingers, so its annoying but not super terrible. however if I have to use the stylus and the dpad at once, I probably will avoid playing the game. I have yet to have that problem yet though.

Also, I always avoid using the stylus whenever possible, Its just easier to keep my hands on the system and not have to deal with all the extra annoyance.

You are lucky to be right handed =P The world is more annoying if your lefty. scissors are retarded to use. writing is terrible because with the coil binding notebooks your hand is always hitting the coil and thats annoying and kinda painful. and as you write your hand slides over what you just wrote, so you smudge pen and pencil, and the pencil graphite gets all over the bottem of your hand. So it sucks.

But on the plus side we get to feel special? haha. Also aside from writing I do everything righthanded, except for cutting things. Sports and stuff though are righty =P

EDIT: Oh just read a comment above me, I do use my right thumb sometimes to hit the touchscreen =P

I'm glad that they are getting some attention finally over here. I wish it could become super popular like it is in japan. However because something crazy like 85% of PSP owners have hacked PSPs I doubt their gamesales will do as good as they hope.. Which discourages them from releasing games over here. Sigh.

Anyone with this game and a PS3 can take advantage of adhoc party in the japanese playstation store. Its free. It allows you to fool your psp into thinking that you are playing with friends in the same room, even if they are far away.

Its pretty easy to make a japanese PSN account, theres guides on the net for all that, and setting up adhoc party is also pretty simple. Keep in mind your PS3 has to be using a wired internet connection because it needs the wireless capabilities to communicate with your PSP.

So yeah, we should play over adhoc party when the game comes out. My PSN is Xeiphyer so add me if you need help or wanna play and whatnot =D I'm usually on in the evenings.

Also if your a novice and need help or have a question, send a message on PSN or on giantbomb =P

@Snail: Nice avatar, Zero Punctuation is awesome.

Its cool to see all these new players getting into this, I didn't bother with the demo because I have been playing Monster Hunter since the first PS2 game haha, but from the sounds of it there isnt much for tutorials. The actual game has real tutorials for each aspect of the game and eases you into it nicely.

Theres a lot to learn to be good at monster hunter, but the beginning of the game is pretty forgiving, and should you ever get stuck, dont forget you can always get help from friends or go get better weapons and armor.

Also a tip: not all weapon styles can block, and some are better than others. For example a katana has no blocking ability but its way faster than a greatsword with similar attack strength. So you get a ton of damage capability but you have to be good at dodging. The lance or gunlance have giant shields that will absorb the majority of an attack so you will take a very small amount of damage.

Play around with the different styles until you find one that you play well with, and you can always switch weapons for different missions, but its a lot easier to focus on one style because upgrading weapons is expensive and costly as far as materials go. So play around with the starting weapons because you get one of each type.

Another tip: When using a bow, light bowgun, or heavy bowgun you will need to use gunner armor, this has half the defence of the blademaster equivelant but higher elemental resistances. So its important to keep this in mind as your armor you wear while using a sword wont work with your gun, so you will need 2 different sets of armor. Although, All helmets can be worn regardless of weapon style.

Also, be aware of all the moves you have at your disposal, some moves can only be used when you press square or triangle while holding R to guard (I think its R, haven't played in a while) For example the lance has a straight stab and a upwards stab, you can combo 3 of them before you pause for a second, You can also use a charge attack where you stick out your lance and rush forwards while consuming stamina. Also by pressing square and triangle together you can swing upwards while jumping backwords.

The gunlance can fire bullets at close range, they can be powerful but will decrease weapon sharpness faster than normal. by blocking and pressing square and triangle you can unleash the "Wyvern Fire" A extremely powerful beam attack, it has some charge up time so skill is needed to use it, you can also aim it somewhat before it fires. This will decrease weapon sharpness a ton and will need around 2 minutes to recharge. (you can tell by looking for the open chamber on your weapon smoking, it will make a noise when it closes and is ready)

Uh so yeah, I could talk forever about how to play properly, if anyone needs some help =P send me a message!

Oh and for dodging, Running when you press X will let you dodge roll, and when doing it while running away from a dragon will let you dive, during the dive you are invincible so it is helpful for dodging. also running away from a dragon consumes stamina 2x as fast.

To answer your questions; You can delete the game off the HDD afterwords and will still keep your savedata =P once the game is installed, putting your disc into the xbox should still allow you to start playing it even though your xbox doesn't read that the disc is in the drive at all, it still works usually. Also there is no way to play a game without having the disc in the xbox, because of the obvious reason: rent a new game for the $8 and install to drive? save $62? Obviously that would kill the industry.

Uhmmm so yeah, try hairspray, basically any kind of liquid or gel that will dry clear. Your filling in the scratches so that the laser deflects off the disc properly and can read it. just remember to wipe it so its clean after you spray it.

Also as said above, Dvd Doctor or Disc Doctor is what its called, those are dirt cheap =P Or just buy a new or used copy of the game. Or just borrow it and finish it off, its not that long of a game, and its pretty crappy because of the extreme lack of variation =P

Hmm so it wasn't tim burton? Interesting =P I was under the impression it was haha. Yeah I would agree with your 8/10. Also did you see it in 3D? I think the 3D aspects definitely added to the experience.

Also, Cant wait for Nine. That movie looks amazing. Thats Tim Burton hehe =P
