Horrible news, I went through something similar to your situation a few years ago. I don't know your age or your situation but I wish the best of luck for you. The world can be a lonely place sometimes.

Also, I don't know if you qualify but you may want to seek out aid from medicaid or from charities like the Ronald McDonald House. They do great work and may make a horrible situation more bearable. Also don't feel ashamed to ask for help, these things are too much for one person to bear.

Guys, I just want to say that even though I have no opinion on this argument (though I enjoy Marcus Beer's internet personality more than Phil FIsh's) do you realize the internet is awesome. Try installing the Baldur's Gate Trilogy Mod that puts all of BG1 in BG2 engine and play that. Single handedly the most epic and huge story you will get.

I think any series that spans PS1 to (potentially) PS4 would be a good showcase of Gaikai. Final Fantasy comes to mind, but I actually think the King's Field games (and Demon+Dark Souls) would be cool. Not many people have played the King's Field games.

@speedmarque: but how likely is it for Microsoft to gate the Xbox One controller to Windows 8?

I just wonder how bad their projections had to be for this to happen. It had to be straight up DIRE. Also if this is what we can expect from Patrick with more time on his hands, fucking more power to him! Amazing work as always Patrick.

@rebgav: I guess what I meant was there is probably an acceptable load time for the beginning of a game (since that is still either downloaded or read off the disc). You wouldn't want Gran Turismo 5 level load times. The PS4 has a PCAV Blu-ray drive so the outer edges of the disc are read at a much faster speed than the inside so this may offset it somewhat but there is a threshold that must be reached before the game begins playing, I just wonder if that changes the way games are designed or maybe they don't care and the initial load will be as long as they want?

@w1n5t0n: When I don't have a connection steam doesn't work T_T. Maybe I'm doing it wrong (totally possible)?
