Well if they weren't given a copy by rockstar then they would've had to get it the same time as the rest of us...THEN begin to go through all the bits and bobs...  C'mon guys...

Personally I would rather have a later review of this game than none at all, simply because I enjoy reading them. But what strikes me as odd, is the whole reasoning behind there maybe not being a review. Why is it that Jeff has to be the one to play and review the game? There are three other guys, each of them fully capable of playing and reviewing Red Dead Redemption.  
 
Now that I think about it, I would love to see a review by Vinny again. Of course the timeliness of the review would be completely dependent on how well he could keep his, "I must collect everything, " OCD in check.

any game that might be a GOTY candidate should be reviewed.. who cares if its late.. Batman was late last year and they loved it.  take your time review it when you can.

People need to really get a sense of perspective in life. this is 4 guys trying to cover all the games we'd like to see. They're not superhuman. There's other places you can look to form an opinion on a game and decide whether they want to buy it. From the quicklook, Brads very impressed with it. There you go.  
The sense of entitlement over alot of the stuff on this site is rediculous and is an embarrassment to the GB community.  
The sooner you stop pissing yourself with anger over such irrelevant things, the happier you will be.

This is why i pity game journalists. They're so busy with video games that they no longer have the time or mood to enjoy them.  RDR is one of the biggest games of the year and im sure its gonna be one of the biggest ones of the decade, but these journalists "might play some of it" because of their work....  Specializing in video games is a curse. it takes away the reason you became a gamer in the first place.. I'm somewhat confused on the nature of some of the posters, I understand that you want your primary website to post a review, however since this is a big-budget title there is more than enough information to not only educate you about the game itself but also determine whether you should buy it or not. Let's say Brad gives it a 5/5. Well, that's great and I'm glad that he enjoyed the game but that doesn't mean I'm magically going to enjoy the game, now does it? The same goes for the flip side, he could give a game a 2/5 and I absolutely adore it. (Just using Brad as an example, not trying to insinuate a slight against  his abilities as a reviewer) 
 
Personally, I love Red Dead Redemption and the two sites I frequent most (GiantBomb and Destructoid) could hate this game but that doesn't change my opinion. I understand wanting the review, I don't understand needing the review.

I understand why Jeff doesn't want to review it.  The FF13 review came so late that people didn't really care anymore by the time it hit the web. 
Though it would be kind of weird to not have an archive/review of this important game.

yeah good games tend to get nit picked, but thats because people hold them in such high regards. is rdr a game worth getting perfect or near perfect reviews? no, but it did, and because of that people will look for anything to hate on.

lol if you really think that it is going to one of the biggest games of the decade then you aint very smart. i know people get really amped for rockstar games, and think that theyre awesome for like a month or so, but after the newness wears off people will be hating on it. youre insane if you think that a game that plays like a lot of games from the last decade will be one of the games of this decade. rdr does absolutely nothing new, which doesnt mean its not a good game, but there is really very little progression from the gta games with rdr. "

Like GTA IV, Gears of War, Modern Warfare, MGS4, and the like this game will be getting hate well into the future.
Know why?  Because that's what happens to all awesome games.
