Overview
Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection (known in Japan as Samurai Spirits NeoGeo Collection) is a 2D historical-fantasy weapon-based fighting game compilation developed by Digital Eclipse and published digitally by SNK for the PC on June 11, 2020 (Epic Games Store) and June 18, 2020 (Steam). It was later released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on June 28, 2020, with the Japanese PS4 and Switch versions also receiving a physical release.
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Neo Geo platform, Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection features the six games in the Samurai Shodown series that were originally released for the Neo Geo, in addition to one previously-unreleased title (an enhanced update of the sixth installment, known as Samurai Shodown V Perfect). In addition, the game features online multiplayer (both ranked and unranked), a jukebox option, and a "Museum Mode" featuring numerous artwork, development documents, and developer video interviews.
The PS4 and Switch versions of the game also received limited-edition physical release both in Japan (as the "Limited Edition Pack") and in North American (by Limited Run Games on February 12, 2021, known as the "Classic Edition"). It features a replica "shockbox" (Neo Geo AES game boxes), an artbook, and a soundtrack CD, with the NA version also including a miniature replica of a Neo Geo AES cartridge and a replica arcade kit box.
