Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is a role-playing game developed and published by Atlus for the PlayStation 2. It is chronologically the fifth installment in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series. So, this is probably the last week of the ER...
Assuming they get the normal ending this could very well be the last week we get to watch Jeff 'n Vinny play P4. How do you guys feel about that? Sad? Happy? Relieved?
Also a new ED is probably impending. You guys got any ideas what it might be? Would you guys prefer a new or bigger team, or Jeff and Vinny again?
DISCUSS. NOW.
Yep, looks like it...They said there would be a long break in between starting a new endurance run and this one ending...
" I hope it is. So people will finally talk about something else. Furthermore, why do people seem to assume they're going to do another one? "They said that there would be a break before they would do the next endurance run..Therefore, whatever game it is, there will most likely be another endurance run. Besides, what else are they going to replace the ER with? That's like 90 hours worth of content they have to make up if they decide to drop the ERs.
It will NEVER! end. They will finish and then miss doing it, so they start New Game+, then finally after doing Yukkio's castle again they'll get tried of the game and stop the ER.
" I hope it is. So people will finally talk about something else. Furthermore, why do people seem to assume they're going to do another one? "
Because it's an easy way to generate lots of content and it has been stated that the ER is Giant Bomb's most popular feature. Not to mention that Vinny and Jeff seem to genuinely have a lot of fun doing it. So I think it's pretty safe that they will eventually do another one.
I assume they'll go for the true ending. And, as has been mentioned, they said they'd take a (well deserved) break before starting a new ER on the PAX Bombcast.
" @Fallen189 said:I see them taking a break during the holiday season and early 2010 and using that free time to review the glut of games and whatnot" I hope it is. It might end on episode 150. I see Episode 150 as the Christmas Event, then going on to the end cinematic and rolling the credits to music.
I think that they'll end up going for the true ending. On the other hand, the fight against the normal ending final boss really is just around the corner, but I don't know if they'll be able to take it out on the first try. It has a really nasty attack that is pretty much a guaranteed instant kill if you aren't guarding.
If they somehow get to the true ending; this is what exactly happened." They are going to get the true ending, not an if they can do it. It is just a matter how 'dumb' will they act to pretend they got the true ending. "

I disagree. They should do whatever game they want to do next, the fans should not have any say in it. That's how it happened with Perosna 4 and MxO and that's how it should continue." @Gunner: Honestly the best solution would be an open-poll. "
You mean the April Fool's list that has some middleware for rendering trees quickly and in large numbers as it's top candidate?" I would like to see a Mass Effect ER

I assume at this point they're pretty much destined to go for the true ending and will have been told to look for it, so it's probably going to keep going past 150. They definitely could use a break after that though, Christmas is gonna be busy as ever, plus it'll be hard to find a game with as much charm and length as P4.
I think they're tired of the game, and they already read that the normal ending is better, so they'll go for the ending that ends it quicker. It would suck if they succumbed to the whims of the response whiners, that would just validated them.@FluxWaveZ said:

The reason i'm suggesting an open poll is because the P4 endurance run was something unexpected, but now everyone knows there's going to be another one, and no matter what game they choose they're going to piss off a certain number of people anyway for not choosing a game of their liking.
So the most feasable thing is to either have a poll, or those guys completely shun the forums and do what they please.

No matter what happens, people are going to be pissed, so it will be easier for them to just discuss it amongst themselves and do what they want. That's what happened with this Endurance Run and look at the result.

Any site with a big enough audience will piss off people no matter what they do. If they make a review for a game that a lot of people don't agree with, many will be frustrated and some will not care or agree. The contrary also applies. Imagine if fans decided on every major decision for a video gaming based website; that site would not last long. I'm sure if they had done a previous ER before Persona 4, and after that ER they chose Persona 4 many people would have been annoyed and would have wondered why the hell they chose that type of game.
They're going to take a break for a while, maybe a month or so, then they'll play something that they are interested in and that they think would make a good ER. People will watch and the game will sell well for a while creating all new fans to the franchise.
I still want the mini-ER of Incredible Crisis to happen.
It was said in the PAX bombcast that they'd take a break for a while before doing another ED. When they do start a new one it would be cool if it was like Brad and Ryan, of course I'd still love it if it stayed as Jeff and Vinny, but it would be an interesting change. :D
" I see them taking a break during the holiday season and early 2010 and using that free time to review the glut of games and whatnot "This is what I think, too. As soon as this wraps up in a week (and I think they'll be done next Friday if they go for the true ending, which they will), they'll call it a day until January or so and then spring the next Endurance Run on us in the lull period before all the early 2010 stuff comes out (and I'm going to bet it won't be Persona PSP since I think that will just get a review). It would be cool if they did some a short Endurance Run in between of something like Incredible Crisis, though. :)
The problem is that there are very few games that haev P4's blend of non-combat and combat. Most JRPGs follow the Town--->Dungeon--->Cutscene--->Boss Battle--->New Town format. That can make for boring video. Action games don't leave much time for any real discussion. SRPGs are way too grindy. Baldur's Gate and the first two Fallouts wuld work except the game has to come from a publisher who won't issue a C&D letter after one week and Interplay is a rights holder and not much else right now.
Actually, would it be wrong of me to suggest Sonic Adventure? It'd be funny to see the person playing just lose their shit when something doesnt work right. Plus with Sonic Adventure, anything can and will go wrong.
Also, bad acting and storytelling! Its a fantastic formula!
Or not...
Edit: I changed my mind. Shenmue should be top candidate.
Oh come on. how obvious is it by now that they want to end this thing at 150? Friday's gonna be the day.
