Regarding Black Ops. I didn't have that much trouble with the Napalm part because it was shown in a gameplay video. But I can see other people having trouble with it. I was confused on that same level, except it was the part where you had to grab detonators and trigger them. They kept having the "follow" symbol above Woods and I didn't know what I was doing wrong until I died and saw them glowing on the sandbags. There are multiple parts where they just do a poor job of telling you what you need to do. Sprint to jump off the roof, jump off the broken cat walk, killing a guy during a stealth segment, etc.

I had the same problem with the barrels in that level. I could not figure that shit out until I turned on the subtitles.  That is the only part in the single player that started to piss me off. lol

So that's what you had to do with the barrels eh? I tried shooting the barrels thinking they would explode in fire and when they didn't I was like "oh well" and just took off running and ended up dying. When I tried again I ran into the bunker on the right and used that noob tuber to take care of some guys and then just ran my ass shooting dudes in my way and got through it.
 
I then died on the hill and had to do it over again.

So, Brad, if it makes you feel better, I found the StarCraft II Finals on YouTube and have started watching them, along with the crazy intro ceremony on GOM.TV. I'm VERY much a layman (I started the campaign for the game Sunday, and otherwise really haven't played more than a couple games of StarCraft EVER) and I'm still finding these fascinating.

I don't care if I gave money to the site or w/e; I loved hearing Brad's stories regarding his trip to South Korea.  I can't wait to see the vids Drew has produced.

I got my mind blown at the end by that guy mentioning that Golly Ghost game. I saw that game when I was very young at my local Castle Park and I remember the ghosts going in and out of closets and stuff and they would open and close. I never knew the name of the game and I never played it, but it is one of my earliest memories of arcades.

Listening to the Bombcast now. I'm envious of Vinny's continued weekend marathoning of games.

I'm with Vinny on the Black Ops thing... I didn't touch a single barrel and did fine. Strange!

See, this is the part that I don't get.  Where does the firm belief that, even if it was done on GB's dime, that Brad would come back with zero worthwhile site content come from?  The idea that this was somehow all on a whim seems to lack any basis and was pretty damn dumb from the beginning. "

Name one game they've talked about as much as Starcraft 2, as frequently as Starcraft 2. Atleast MW2 got it's own podcast instead of being sprinkled into every single one. "

No recollection of barrels.  I'm befuddled.

I didn't do anything with the barrels or claymores, I figured it was just an unimplemented feature of the level.
 
I still don't get how Jeff can get so bent out of shape and withhold a star from the review for something as nothing as the background of a scene or a dude putting sunglasses on.  Seems like he was looking for anything at all to be "cool" and go 4/5.

I just want to say that I think people need to play COD1,2, MW1,2 (though MW to a lesser degree) again to see just how much those games were inspired by films. They take almost exact sequences (just like Black Ops) from those films. They were really awesome, but it's not news that the series does that.

I never even noticed a barrel on that level. I just worked my way down to the bottom trench on the left side, then worked my way along that trench to exit that area. I had to look it up on YouTube to actually see where the barrels were.

I totally agree with the barrel sequence in Black Ops. They put the objective marker way forward, say nothing about kicking or interacting with them. Really weird. And the worst part was that as soon as you manage to kill one guy, the next guy is about half a second away, so on the harder difficulties, you do NOT have the time to get shit to work. 
 
It seems like the scripting is almost broken there, because normally I could make it all the way down to the trench without anything happening, but the next time I just booked straight to like the second tier, and right away the guy goes and kicks it over. Seems kinda like it was supposed to happen quickly and show you what to do, but it NEVER happened.

Those were annoying as well(especially Fallout 3 which stuck around for a long time) but the amount of podcasts ruined by having a 1/4th of the show be about Starcraft 2 has to be some kind of record. Fallout 3 was probably mentioned just as frequently, but they never spent a significant time talking about it outside of the initial podcast it was mentioned. "
