Quick Look: Ask Me Anything: Rush'N Attack: Ex-Patriot & Hard Corps: Uprising

I still own a copy of Contra: Hard Corp, which is plugged into my Genesis at this moment. I go back to it every so often to see if I how rusty I am and how far I can get.

Rush'N Attack looks kind of janky. Hardcorps looks great, not very innovate but very pretty.  
On a side note, it seems to me that Rush'N Attack is remembered more for its awesome name than its gameplay, am I completely off base on this? Because it seems like most people can only remember the first level if anything.

Rush 'N' Attack: Russian Attack

Story-wise, Hard Corps Uprising is connected to Contra: Hard Corps (Sega Genesis). The main antagonist in CHC was named Bahamut, so presumably, HCU is a prequel that attempts to explain why he went nuts.

Hard Corps Uprising looks great.  It's about time they brought a new Contra game to consoles. 
Never was a fan of Rush'n Attack, and the new one looks intriguing, but not too sure about it.

Hey Jeff and Brad Hard Corps was basically Contra Three for the NES.  It was a Doki Doki Panic esque deal where Konami had a game, Hard Corps where you played as a team of three guys and could switch between them.  In the US they just sold the same game and called it Contra:HArd Corps.  Its just the Japanese version of Hard Corps released under the Contra Name.  Now Billy No Red Eagle etc.

I don't like how hte guy slides in rush and attack. hardcore looks pretty cool. not bad to look at.

I don't know...I think Rush N Attack looks kind of horrible.  Horrible collision detection and looks very repetitive.

Rush 'N' Attack has some very stiff looking animation, but holy crap, Hard Corps looks awesome...

I find the fact that the AI doesn't react to other AI's dying 5 feet away a little distracting.

Hard Corps has a real Metal Slug vibe going on. This game will be mine.

2D side scrolling in a 3D environment.

Man, I love 2D side-scrollers. Takes me right back to my younger days pumping far too much money into arcade machines.

This looks pretty sweet, and the ask me anything format is good for these intense games, makes it possible for the guys to give a lot of info. Great stuff.

Hard Corps looks like it will be the better of the two games.  Loved the music in Hard Corps as well.

That non-Contra Contra-game looks quite fun!

Not gonna lie the rush 'n' attack game looks pretty damn fun, don't care much for the hard corps, i was never a fan of contra.

When I they say Rush"n Attack  I hear Russian Attack.  When they say Hard Corps: Uprising I hear Hardcore Uprising!!!!!!!  What I hear are much better titles!
