So what causes the problems for this game on the PS3?  
I saw about 5 of these at the video store for rent but after reading the written review warning about the PS3 I didnt pick it up.

I'd guess the biggest problem is the slow reading 2x blu-ray, for some stupid reason they decided that this game should not have a HDD install (the demo works very well since it's not on disc) which is pretty damn stupid considering every PS3 has a hard drive. Guess that's what happens when there's people crying because they have to wait 10-15 minutes once before getting to play the game..

Hmm i think its just a bad "port"...instalation shouldnt really cause it to run better (apart from loading times), its internal memory that is making it choppy. But I dunno, really.

I...just...she flipped off the world/camera/you, then started the motorcycle (and looked like kicked up some NoS, what with the flames and all) with the same finger.
 
This game looks way to insane to not get. Probably not going to get it for a while though, but damn, I want it.

@orionw: Not to mention poor framerates. Most games on the PS3 that don't require installs don't take that much longer to load than their 360 counter parts.
 
It's a shame the PS3 version is mediocre, as that is my platform of choice. Ah well, I'll just play Ninja Gaiden instead.

The story had a surprising amount of depth if you bothered to read the notes, but overall, the characters and dialog are disappointing. It's an excellent game, but it's hard to believe these are the same guys who made Okami.

Everyone remember to look at the FAQ, and read up on what the different ratings mean here at Giant Bomb. 
 
I'm going to say, he probably thinks it falls under the three star " An inherent appreciation of this game's specific gameplay style, characters, subject matter, and so on may play as big a role in your enjoyment as the actual quality of the game," but also thinks it's better than "The halfway point."

So - after much deliberation, going back and forth from bargain bin to full price purchase - I finally caved and did place my order for Bayonetta at my local eshop.
 
Ryan's 'I feel like the developers did make exactly the game they wanted to...' was the tipping point. Also - the stripper stuff prominently featured in the video review did add an enticing point too.
 
I'm a sucker for gratuitous sexyness and skimpy outfits! Also - SEGA has to be rewarded for letting Platinum go apeshit on this one. It's been too long since SEGA did something really cool. Bayonetta is it.

Awesome video review naturally to go with an awesome written review.  This game had me at the 10-foot tall amazon babe with the ultimate in compromised fashion.  That's just plain hot, she's my type in fantasy land.... I have problems.
