Don't give up, it'll come when you least expect it. I was lucky one day and got it.

I missed this last part sadly glad it's up now.

"That Achievement" seriously needs to be removed, because I always watch these videos not when they're immediately put up, and when I scroll down to see what people think of it I hate seeing the first five comments be just one or two words, or sometimes a semi-coherent thought that was clearly ninja-edited after they discovered that they did or didn't get the First Post, instead of, y'know, something resembling an actual thought with regards to the video.

But then again, I'm pretty sure the quest system isn't coming back after the redesign anyways :P

Anyways! Doom II, am I right?

September 2012, never forget! Month of the Brad. Now he'll give up gaming for good and go out hunting the white whale, because he is unstoppable.

Gotta say I am surprised to see that I remember more about Doom 2 than any of the Giantbomb crew. During the bombcast you can have people mail in and say "hey guys whats this atari 2600 game, you're green, and there are red things, what is it?" and jeff will know exactly what it is, and it's not like he just happens to know that one game, but he knows ALL OF THE GAMES.

But when they are sat together watching someone play doom 2, it's like... I dunno, it's like they never actually played it before.

It's because everyone cheated their way through the game, thus remembering these ridiculous levels is less likely.

Watched the whole thing from start to finish. Gotta hand it to Brad, I don't have to endurance anymore to sit 5 hours straight and plough through games like DOOM 2. But it's amazing how well DOOM has aged. Some of the levels range from brilliant to bullshit, but it's never not satisfying to kill monsters with the double-barreled shotgun. Thanks for bringing in Brad Muir as well. He's by far one of the coolest guests.

I followed the whole thing live but fell asleep around the 20 minute mark of this vid. By that stage Brad had already been playing for like 4 and a half hours. Thanks for the herculean effort, Brad and co., but especially Brad. His determination didn't once falter. The crew shouldn't squander that kind of stamina - take it and start an ER, ASAP.

Honestly, just give up on getting the first post on videos created by Giant Bomb, because people actually care about those. It's way harder to get the first post on those.

Instead, when GB posts a trailer for some game that basically nobody gives a shit about, you often have a window of like 5 minutes before anyone makes the first post about it.

Romero himself didn't put the head behind the last boss. The other designers put the head there and when Romero noticed the easter egg, he added the reversed line.

Doom II has the worst level design of any game I've ever seen. So unnecessarily cryptic and just god damn ridiculous.

Many congrats to Brad for achieving the impossibility of two successful Breaking Brad's in a month!

Absolutely. The people who rush in with shitty one or two word comments like "Cool" or "Looks good" to try and get the achievement, need to be hit with a bag of bricks.

You'd think there was a cash prize for getting it, or something.

Doom II is a bastard and a half. This release definitely feels like a "master quest" version of Doom than an actual sequel, which I suppose is perfectly okay for fans.

I still have a copy of the first Doom lying around somewhere; the SNES version with its fittingly red cartridge. I don't remember why I even bought it, but it was my first FPS. Never got very far though, the "mechanics" were too much of a learning curve for me at the time.

Doom II is like the equivalent of Super Mario Bros 2(the Japanese version). Both games took a good game concept and made them mind numbingly difficult.

Also another win for Team Brad!!!
