Demo Derby: PlayStation Underground: Volume 3 Issue 3

Evil Zone was a sweet, crazy anime fighting game. Jon st. John was a character in that game, as well as Paul Eiding, the guy who does the voice of Cambell in MGS. In many ways it doesn't hold up, but I was really sold by the presentation at the time. Still have a copy of it laying around the house.

I've got the moves like Jugger.

I know I'm not the first to post like this, but still...

I didn't bother checking the length of the video until they got to the secret codes part and saw it was over 2 HOURS!!!! DAMN!!!!!

Damn, I remember Tiny Tank. One of the few non-JRPGs I had for the PS1. I remember it being that kind of so-so game that grows on you after a while.

This was an expansive Demo Derby. PlayStation Underground sure packed a lot into those discs. Will you guys be sticking to the PS1 or will you try a few PS2 discs too? I dunno if you have one of those older PS3 models that can run PS2 games.

(Also, I still want Jeff on these things. I feel there's no-one on the staff more qualified to talk about old games or jank-ass 90s music.)

I remember when Australian Personal Computer one time had a 3CD package with a bunch of demos, they also included "The Best Adventure Games of All Time" with Zork, the first Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis etc.....

I used to play that demo for Omega Boost so much when I was a kid, but I couldn't remember what the game was called. I thought it was pretty great!

EDIT: I played that Tiny Tank demo a lot too! I think I must've had this demo disc. Thanks for doing this feature, this is awesome.

Man, Ape Escape really was a great fucking game.

I was a huge Spyro fan until the PS2 games...Good thing Ratchet & Clank was there to soften the blow!

I know everyone hates Rainbow Road but that space level in Jet Moto 3 was so much worse

OMG Tiny Tank, that game was pretty neat.

Evil Zone is amazing. Need a bombastica encyclopedia on that. Campbell is a drunk and a sexist and anime as all hell in that trainwreck of a game. Atleast for Unprofessional Fridays, I need to hear Campbell do a Dragon Ball scream again when he throws supers. Go Dan, you know you must.

I hope they get Underground vol 2 issue 1. That has the MST3k stuff!

Pac-Man World! It was one of the only games I ever played on the PlayStation back in the day. Gets pretty challenging in spots and is generally a really solid game.

And this is all coming from someone who doesn't like Pac-Man very much otherwise.

I can't decide what I love more Demo Derby or Metal Gear Scanlon. Dan has injected so much amazing content onto the site since coming on board.

Alzo, I know thiz waz brought up in a previouz video, but I can't help but zpeculate az to what partz of game media coverage will look completely ridiculouz to people a couple decadez from now.

I am super bummed out that the Playstation Crash Bandicoot jeans jacket the guy at PAX was wearing is not available to order.

BTW, I'm an old who was a teen/young adult in the '90s, and I NEVER heard anybody use Diesel in conversation. But I hope it really makes a comeback!

Yeah man it blows my mind that there was even a second of belly aching from the internet about the new hires everything Dan has touched has turned has turned to gold. Im sure in the future Jason will have a chance to show us some content also. I could'nt be happier with the new hires.

I remember reading all the crap 989 Sports' Kelly Flock (usually rightfully) used to run about EA's 'Madden' games, especially the line about EA's vaunted "Liquid AI' running down the executives legs.

Omega Boost is easily one of my top 5 ps1 games. doesn't get nearly the credit it deserves.

Man, I LOVE Crash Team Racing, in my opinion far superior to the Mario Kart games. First game I ever completed 100%.

This was fantastic! Almost like an extra UPF for the week/ documental.

God dammit late 90's... god dammit. Terrible graphic design is a staple of that particular place in time.
