So torn...I haven't played the Witcher 3 DLC yet but I really want to watch this!

Probably going to cave soon because "spoilers" at this point probably won't ruin much for me but...

Honestly, some great stuff in this. I really wish Vinny could have played the Witcher forever though... Vinny is just magic in any game with any sort of freedom.

i absolutely love watching GBeast playing these deep heady games like Factorio and Kerbal. I want to get a playthough of Civ 5 or Endless Legend or Crusader Kings 2. Some big 4X strategy game would be fun.

Hearts of Stone is goddamn amazing. It made me love a fantastic game even more.

I'm more excited for Blood & Wine than I am for most other game releases to be honest.

Man every time I see factorio I want to play it. But I really want to wait for it to come out fully before I dive in. Because I would hate to burn out on it while it's still in early access and never play it once it actually comes out.

Vinny you should take 5 minutes to learn Gwent because that game is extremely easy to beat everybody at. And there's also difficulty sliders for Gwent in the settings. @vinny

To me, something like Factorio needs to have the potential for a perfect ratio. That state where, if you do it just right, all the plate spinning ceases to be plate spinning, and you can just sit back and watch it roll.

That was ultimately my issue with the Anon series. When the guides for the right ratio's of buildings to reasources and etc all have .535 for every 1.23..ugh.

I need to know my efforts can payoff. Plate spinning till you achieve perfection is glorious and satifying, plate spinning for eternity is the kind of things nightmares are made of.

God damn the writing in The Witcher is so good. I need to go back and finish that game. Maybe when it gets cheap on the PC with a game of the year edition I'll pick it up and start again from the beginning.

I have never been so embarrassed at my skills of a human being at when playing Factorio ... I could not figure out like 10 items in how to get everything to merge together ... I would go insane trying 70 hours into this game.

This made me realize there is an expansion coming out for witcher 3 in a few months and my 92 hour save needs to be worked on since I got a loooong way to go (I consider this to be one of the greatest games of all time, seriously play it with e3fx reshade and be blown away)

@bladededge: The good news is, Factorio ratio solvers are a dime a dozen. The bad news is perfect ratioed lines are kind of resource and time sinks so by the time you want to do them, you are in bonus time trying to see what sort of megafactory you can create.

The mixed news is raw materials and production is cheap enough, assemblers smart enough, and storage plentiful enough, that nothing is wasted setting up a push situation. Push being where the intermediates are able to be produced faster than they can be consumed. Assemblers will ration their production to meet the production requirements, or if you have the storage set up, work on filling up a buffer. That's the case where you get the plate good and spinning, and you won't upset it till you start building new things.

Logistics being a real moving thing on conveyor belts helps make it so you aren't just ticking values on a spreadsheet to make the sums align like Anno. You're in a real production environment with logistic problems and solutions that mean the perfect ratio isn't always the perfect tool for the job.

@bladededge: I think Factorio mostly solves this problem with the smart inserters/chests/drones. You'll probably never hit a perfect equilibrium, but part of the fun is accounting for the surplus/deficit. The new Anno did simplify the production lines (and everything else) to the point that you can easily get perfect ratios, and that just ends up being real boring.

There's not really a reason to have the camera on the guys is there?

It should probably be zoomed in more on their faces for it to be worth it.

@misantrope: Yah it looks like the game lets that perfect ratio stuff sit in the background a bit and let the other issues come to the forefront. I just happen to be the kind of numbers guy who, if a game like this hits my 'gotta play' itch, that's a feature it has to get right.

As for Anon, the newer one might well have fixed the issue. The one I mentioned was with the last release, not the current. I admit I didn't bother with the current one, not after the QL seemed to indicate there was no sandbox mode, and they seemed to be having the exact same issue I was dealing with.

Its kind of like, I don't like straight up city builders a lot, but I do like a game with more complexity, that can provide their end-result. I.E. you can sit back and look at what you've built, ruining smoothly without further input from you. that 'look what I made!' moment/victory. A weird dichotomy I admit, which is totally subjective/my own and, really there are very few games that click with it.

Thankfully its not something that I am drawn too so often.

I've had several Klipsch speakers from various lines they make. Very good stuff (especially when you can grab some B stock), however I did have their old 4.1 system for PCs. All their 'For PCs' speakers sounded great and were verrry delicate - not surprised that some of the components inside ate it after time. I think they cut some corners back then. No idea about their stuff now.

should be something more akin to UPF with them placed around the edges of the gameplay, so we see them and the gameplay isn't obscured.

i get they're trying to do something different here but probably shouldn't mess with what works.

e: obviously didn't take into account their camera situation, which may be a tad more meagre than what GBWest has going. sure they know more/better than me anyway.

I haven't played any witcher 3 but I like that this DLC is having a little fun with Geralt. If anything I wanted him to be even more animated and have even more of a change in voice (same actor still of course) just to really commit to it.

As much as I loved Witcher 3 I thought that the leveling up and progression system was awful and one of the worst in any rpg I've played
