Huge props to Pawtrick for playing Cryostasis. I admire his tenacity in trying out new things, he's like Vinny in that way (and that's a huge compliment in this community, I feel).

It just sounds super goofy hearing english talking people pronounce a swedish word like that (it's the same to me, as the danish version is just Ombudsmand).

I do not understand any of the praise they give MK9's story. Sure, it's told in a super interesting way, but the story is just plain dumb.

I kind of feel the opposite actually. The way it was told (lots of cutscenes with fights in-between) is pretty much the most generic way they could have implemented a fighting game story. The story itself was dumb but entertaining. (At least until the end, which was mostly just dumb.)

I'll never understand people saying it set a new bar for fighting game storytelling. The only thing special about how it presented its story was that it had reasonably high production values. I think fighting game story modes can do a lot better.

Wow, I thought the combat in Tomb Raider was the best part. I loved the combat in Uncharted 2 as well. Flighty, agile, faced paced TPSs.

Eh. I thought that game was okay. I kind of mean multitiered, rolling, non-weighty feeling movement. Not rocketing on my crotch everywhere, being Japanese, and shooting robots.

Finding all the stuff out yourself is really rewarding, I think I've got most of it figured out.

It's a fun game to play in the background. But just because it's an abstract exploration/gardening sim, doesn't mean it's relaxing when black holes are out to eat you!

Someone already named the CPL, but there was also the short-lived CGS produced by DirecTV and actually broadcast. Fatal1ty actually was involved in that (so was I, my one claim to "fame"). Then there's a ton of other lesser tournaments.

Regarding splitting the player base, it sort of failed with Counter-Strike - 1.6 is still a dominant force in high-level tournament play while all its offshoots keep strong but lesser used communities.
