People hating him for making wild predictions and sometimes getting them wrong are missing the point. Don't take things so seriously. He analyses circumstances and comes to logical conclusions on what should play out in a business sense. Just because he's wrong doesn't make him an idiot. He's entertaining. That's why he gets in on stuff like this.

This episode of the Bombcast is automatic garbage with the inclusion of this asshat "analyst".  Pass.  Ill catch the next one.

also, unless if you're talking about ARMA II or something like that, shooters are not very hardcore, I don't think.  maybe rpgs and adventure games.

Pachter is awesome.  I love watching his weekly show Pach-Attack on GameTrailers.  He has a job that I envy.

After a long day in the lab i thought i was trippin when i saw the new bombcast logo but alas it's there!

1 hour and ten minutes? That's how long it is until TNT! It's a sign!

Yay, Pachter!!!  Probably wouldn't want him every week, but if they could get him a few times a year for his somewhat unique perspective, that'd be awesome.

I think the point the Bombcast crew is missing about NGP is that the difference between PSP and NGP is controls.  
 
A single stick killed PSP and games having to give up face buttons for camera controls turned people off.   Peace Walkers action buttons were L, R and the D-Pad.  Console controls on the go can be very appealing for some people (wasn't that basically what gameboy was).

Sony the hardware company has software problems. 
Microsoft the software company has hardware problems.

Great podcast. A few years ago I facepalmed everytime I heard the name Michael Pachter. But he nailed the Nintendo analysis and basically worded what I have been thinking for months now. Smart man!

I think Pachter makes a really good point about how hardware will be gone soon enough. I've been thinking that for a while too. It will be to the benefit of basically all involved.

great one I love the pach-man, I actually didn't know Fifa was still growing although Fifa10 and 11 were pretty good and I still think microsoft has to have a console or something.

Speaking of old dudes who are out of touch with current video game culture.

RRoD was a design problem but the PSN getting hacked was also a design problem. I am tired of  people saying "oh you know they got hacked it wasn't their fault", they had a shitty setup for their network and they got caught plain and simple it was their fault for not having sufficient security.  
 
EDIT: Also this podcast is very interesting. Whatever you think of Pacther they guy does know this stuff most of the time.
