However, I think Jeff gives a pretty accurate depiction of how the game would play for someone new to the series.   BC2 as even you've described is about an entire TEAM, and if people don't know their job then the game turns to crap fast. As even you've recommended "leave the server" asap.   The harrier and AC130 can easily be avoided by just going indoors. Simple as that.   It's obvious that you're way into BC2. That's fine, I've said multiple times that I understand what BC2 is trying to do and how people COULD enjoy it. I just don't think I PERSONALLY would enjoy it as much as MW2.  And you're entire long winded rant has done nothing but confirm even moreso that this game is not as balanced as MW2.   Any game that REQUIRES a team that knows the inner workings of the gameplay to have fun is going about it at the wrong angle. If this was a PC only game, I could understand it but for a console game you have to take into account the fact that there will be noobs playing. I don't want to feel as if as soon as I join a game and realize it's noobs that I HAVE to leave.   That's where MW2's balance comes into play. I suppose it's as simple as, if you don't have vehicles in MP it makes it easier to balance things out.   Either way, both of these are just our opinions. I find it funny how BC2 fans get so worked up to try and PROVE that it's superior to MW2. Why can't they both be good games? "

" I've always enjoyed the BC series, so it's disappointing to see it slagged so often by people who clearly don't understand it.   It's not Modern Warfare. It's not even "Modern Warfare with vehicles"--which doesn't even make sense, btw. It's a game of deferred gratification! Modern Warfare is like being hooked up to an IV of fun. Drip drip drip. Battlefield is like shooting up with an illegal fun drug. When it's good it hits you in the face like the red hot blast of a jet engine. Then you come down and spend the next hour rolled up in a ball and crying. This quick look is, if anything, a good illustration of the withdrawal phase: running around a lot, getting smacked around by vehicles and generally sucking it up. There's another side to the coin, but you'll only see it if you're willing to wait. And it is so good.   BTW Battlefield 2 collection is half off today on steam. "

One of the things I really liked about BF2142 was the few EMP weapons. Stunning a tank was just a matter of throwing an EMP grenade at it... then again some tanks in 2142 could hover and strafe, keeping it difficult to expose the weak point in the back.
 
All it takes in any Battlefield is a single good rocket to the rear exhaust/grill to take out a tank.

UK/British English is its own thing as is American English and one is no more "correct" than the other, except for the region in which you're using it. Ofcourse it was very "tongue-in-cheek" on the whole "dumbing down..ness" - which is why i rolled my eyes at the other kid commenting about my grasp of the english language.  Saying that though, there is no such thing as British english/ American english. It's an american phrase they've suddenly started to attaching to things.. probably in an attempt to make you guys feel more important, and world dominating.. i dunno. At the end of the day though the clues in the title, english!  Adding your own spelling/pronunciation on EXISTING words does not a new language make.  Ofcourse words get adopted from all cultures over time..more so dialect from around europe than America. That's odd, because every application I've ever used allows one to choose from "UK English" and "US English" and the ISO actually distinguishes between the two. To suggest that Americans simply "change the way things are spelled/said and are wrong" is flat out retarded. It's an unsurprisingly English attitude, though. "

Sorry "   - dialect has already been spoken of.  Languages adopt words all the time.. it doesnt result in their language, be it  french, german, italian, chinese,ect, suddenly not existing...nor does it result in a new language being born. Simply an existing one evolving.  There is no "one english being better than the other" as there is only ONE english language. To speak of "american-english" as it's own language is as foolish as stating canadian-english, or austrailian-english, is a seperate language (though notice niether would be as arrogant to do so).. which it's ofcourse not.  Different regions will ofcourse add there own words, with their own meanings attached to them ..but if texas use a word that newyork doesnt understand, or heard of, they've not suddenly started speaking the new worldly reconised language texian have they?  It's when Americans take existing words and place their own meanings to them that the eye rolling will start. Nobody begrudges different regional "slang".   As a basic rule of thumb, if it's not in the dictionary it doesnt count. "

 
. The last time I checked the header this was supposed to a comment page regarding the BC2 quick look. The game looks pretty rad by the way. However as it has been point out, BF multiplayer starts to lose its apeal when it becomes everyman for himself. I would like to see maybe an internal clan system with command ranking. That way if a players team rank is determined by how well they fight as a group, it may encourage more team play. "  

I hope that someday Quick Looks will be downloadable and in a higher resolution someday. Watching these small flash videos is just not enough.

this seems very, very awesome. i loved BF1942/BF2 and never even touched Bad Company but this looks fantastic (for the PC of course). can't wait to pick this one up!
 
oh and dedicated server support, so you got it Bad Company. you got my dollars.

Love the art style of the game. But it still looks like the Bad Company series has a while to go before matching the greatness of BF2.

One of the first quick looks I ever watched. Reminds me of how much Ryan loved the absolute chaos and stupidity of Battlefield. Miss you buddy.
