Kinda meh, first crysis was kinda meh at first, until you play it like this

He may make it look easy in that video, but that level of suit management and stealth is challenging, looks like the challenge that made me like the game a bit more might not be there in crysis 2. Although, since its a city, not much grass or many bushes to hide in, might make me have to change my game plan somehow.

I wonder if the stupid enemy AI is related to the difficulty. I seem to remember the enemies in the first Crysis being MUCH smarter on the higher difficulty settings.

The original Crysis felt like it had endless depth and you had never seen anything quite like it, sure it felt a bit aimless at times but it was offset by the sheer scope of everything and the fact that you could do ANYTHING.

This is just a CoD clone, sad, it even looks worse than the original how fucked up is that?

Apart from the graphical flare of the crytek engine, this looks boring as hell. Also, why do you still have a shadow while in stealth mode? Surely the enemies would pick up on that

I just beat this about 30 minutes ago... it barely gets into the great range sticking with just being good. At the beginning, I thought it was near amazing, then I got in a few more hours and I noticed it was kind of... meh. For me, it's actually kind of depressing. Could it just be because I haven't eaten anything in about a days length now?

I love it when they do these side-to-side comparisons, though I would have liked it if they would have shown off the PC multiplayer as well, the campaign on PC looked a lot more fast paced than on console, and it would have been interesting to see the differences online as well.

Far Cry only had checkpoints, despite being developed by Crytek as a PC only game originally.  Unfortunately, they were way too far apart so I resorted to creating quick saves manually thru a console command.

I don't mind checkpoint saving - so long as they happen often enough.

Crysis2 doing what it can to be confusing in regards to mixing up the clip & the magazine on a gun. Game looks good & multiplayer seems the same as the demo (fun yet maximum armor excessively depressing & useless). Too bad my pc can't handle this but at least I can play this on the 360 to see the full game. Game definitely needs more cannon/giant donut or other enviroment fun things to do.

As you cean clearly see on the screen when he dies the counter goes from 1/3 (Sattelite thing) to 0/3.. So yeah you lose them. Though I do find it weird that the question wasn't asked even though it's pretty obvious

I like NYC, but I'm kind of tired of it as the setting for games. There are plenty of other cities that could also serve as a setting: Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Miami, etc.

You just sold me on a copy of Crysis 1. Thanks for that!

This game seems to interest me more than most FPS (maybe it's because I like the idea of the Nanosuit), but if it's missing the kind of tactical thinking that seems to be in the first game, I'll probably pass. Shooting people in the face by itself just doesn't do it for me, I'm afraid.

First of all, thanks for the QL Jeff and Brad.  I appreciate because there was some call for that and with the Pc version in the review comments.

I don't know...I was really getting into Crysis Warhead as a warm -up exercise because I did get Crysis 2.  I paid for the game(..steam)) so I'm playing Crysis 2, but I'm not forgetting about Warhead.. seems less of a warm-up now.  I liked some of what I saw here and my first hour in, but right away it doesn't seem yet  to really measure up to how Warhead looks. I have a new Pc similar to Jeff's 's,  That bloom when you open up a door is a poor substitute for looking at the morning sun over a beach on some tropical Isle with enthusiast/extreme settings and high res.

I also wish the aliens were a bit more hard-core and strange. They are still looking like rough replica of humans or animals. they even brought their roaches along, as if NYC didn't have enough of an infestation.. I did enjoy the Calamari reference though, if you are into squid you'd always have enough to eat(bait..yechhh) but i would not microwave it. Maybe i will be better impressed outside the QL.

As for the key changes, I was used to the old wheel format, interesting though what they did with right and left lean out. I guess it all works, wish I could find a better key than B for vision, will look again, maybe a macro in reach of my smallest finger.  nope thats also f-12 screenshots, can't seem to change it. Sooo now 3 keys changed around, much better.

Play some now before I get to some painting in the house, thanks again!

edit- it does look better on my monitor, good water effect and such, right now at 2048 x 1536.

I hope the PS3 version runs fine, but I doubt it. I don't have or really want yet another 360, and I can't rent games on PC, so if I want to play this I'm down to one option.

It's a good thing I don't care that much, because I expect to be waiting months for it to be actively available via Gamefly. But at least it will give Crytek plenty of time to patch the PS3 version if if has severe issues.

I played through Crysis and Warhead more times than I can even begin to count.  I had so much fun with the huge environments, using the foliage for cover, and tackling each skirmish differently each time.  It saddens me that I've absolutely no interest whatsoever in this samey corridor environment.  The suit may make the game the tiniest bit different from every other FPS out there, but it was the open environments of the first that really made that game stand out.
