There are lots of words with multiple correct pronunciations. Also language is an evolving thing, if people start pronouncing a word a certain way then thats how the word is pronounced, the original intention of the words pronunciation isn't really all that relevant.

Btw, I would love to see more of Jeff andBrad stumbling their way through a 2D platformer. They're skill set is "entertaining".

Looks great. Jeff and Brad's play would be greatly enhanced if they realized how useful rolling/roll jumping is for getting places fast but still at least they like it even not knowing how to properly play DKC. Going to go buy it now.

That sure looks like a Nintendo game, with that horrible art direction and color palette they insist on having in just about 100% of their games. Which means that no matter how awesome the game may or may not be i have no interest in even looking at it.

That title music is giving me some Super Mario Sunshine flashbacks. I should say that I love Sunshine

@masterpaperlink: Yes. Rolling, which they're not doing at all in the video, is pretty key for going fast. It's not as good as it was in the SNES games (in those killing an enemy prolonged the roll and gave speed boost. In the Retro games the roll is finite with DK Alone and infinite with a partner.) but it's still pretty key since you can always jump out of a roll (even in midair) to cross big gaps or just move quickly.

Also yeah, I'd say DKC has always been a better version of what Sonic was going for. Played properly it was always as fast as Sonic only with tight responsive controls and proper air control instead of being slippery and slidey like Sonic. Plus, sure, there's an element of spectical to Barrel Cannon bits and Minecart stages that's Sonic like. It's like the best of both worlds from Sonic and Mario. Like Sonic it's fast and you can just roll through dudes pretty easily and like Mario you have control of your character.

Jeff's bad at platformers, at least in quick looks and live shows. But the appearance of the jumping in these Retro DK games is a little funky...maybe I'll have to record myself playing and we can see if it still looks funny?

Speaking of which, Funky Student is funkier than Funky Kong. Sorry.

This actually made me hungry to play some Donkey Kong Country. Not a huge fan of the enemy art style in this game. Does anyone know if there are cool mounts like the original?

I will play and love this because the Wii and 3DS games were both amazing and I think this looks even better.

Also, watching Jeff play this makes it look clunky but he's really just extremely bad at it. When you know how to play you realize how well designed the levels are and how smart the controls are.
