How great would it be to hear a Vinny interpretation of every nerdy piece of media out there. His bastardization of the series would be worth money to listen to.

Loved Jeffs intro explanation and really surprised Vinny remebers so much of Dragon Ball stuff. Basically this game plays like the Gundam VS series of games but slightly modified to allow flying. The whole invisibility after knockdown comes from Gundam games which were slower pace and way more managable. I was kind of looking forward to this game hearing that it took this turn but everything about it is pretty weak. Story mode is pretty bare bones, fighting is really hard to keep track of but at the same time so brain dead simple that it seems mot worth it to pay attention, special moves all look and feel unsatisfying and the card system is just a burden. The main focus seems to be on multiplayer and team cooperation but with fighting being so lame I don't see people doing that either. So stay away even if you are a fan.

P.S.

The purple space egypt cat is from a new movie that came out last year. You should check it out, Vinny.

I would watch a feature of Vinny watching all the DBZ episodes and then trying to explain it to Jeff afterwards.

I don't think I've ever watched an episode of DBZ, but I have seen anime where the characters basically go Super Saiyan. For example, when Homer makes himself fat so he can be declared disabled and thus be allowed to work from home.

You know that new dbz movie was actually decent. But yeah this game, fuck this game. When you do the Frieza fight and it isn't just Goku vs Frieza you dun fucked up, you fucked up real bad.

I feel like they reached their peak with the Budokai games. This doesn't look appealing at all and I love Dragon Ball. Imagine how Jeff felt during this whole quick look...

If people are indeed assuming that every anime is like DBZ then they have a much higher opinion of contemporary anime than they ought to have. A 2014 DBZ remake would be set in middle/high school with goku and friends figuring out their sexuality during the day time and fighting aliens during night time. Plus a panty shot every 2 minutes. Don't forget the panty shots.

DBZ was such an important part of my childhood, but I feel like they're just beating a dead horse at this point. Like, besides Budokai, when has there been a good DBZ game?

Fun fact: The developers of the DBZ Budokai games went on to co-develop Street Fighter 4 and its numerous iterations.

Dragon ball is like a drug that you can't completely kick. I watched that opening and I was like yeah I want more dragon ball. I have no idea who the guy at the end is. I don't think I've seen anything after boo, it goes frieza-cell-boo right? or boo than cell. Whatever, either way after five minutes of watching the actual game play, forget it. I have no idea what Vinny was actually doing the whole thing looked like some fast paced craziness. Maybe I look into seeing the newer/older shows I never saw, but that feeling will probably pass in about an hour.

Another hour of my life well spent!

And Vinny, if you want to play a good DBZ game, you play either Budokai 3 or Tenkaichi 3. Every DBZ iteration since then has gotten progressively worse. Also check out DBZ: Battle of Gods, it was a pretty cool DBZ movie.
