Alright that intro was ridiculous.

God, that intro... the annoying thing is that TV commercials about soccer here in Norway is on that level. Or was, I have luckily managed to dodge those when watching TV the past year. Soccer is so stupid, and this QL will probably be awesome.

I cannot wait for this. Giant Bomb and football just don't fit, and it's great.

But is there any nudity in it?

When Danny called it "soccer" instead of football during the Bioforge thing; that was fantastic.

My brother bought this game a few days ago and have been playing it non-stop since. Apparently, whoever buys these games really love them. Me ? I lost it when I noticed the boxes of FIFA 13 and FIFA 14 right next to each other.

I love how they don't even give a shit anymore. "Meh, let's just use last year's cover. It's not like whoever buys this game give a crap anyway."

(And apparently, the other versions of FIFA 13 don't even have the dude on the right on the cover.)

My favorite part of these sports quicklooks is fast becoming the comments where people berate them for not "doing it right"

I don't know much about no Giant Bomb, but I do have the sudden urge to use Squarespace.

I know it was just an off the cuff comment, but complaining about the game not being localized for the US is pretty silly.

@jamesjeux007: The player on the cover is widely thought of to be the best player in the world. Typically Fifa games localize the cover by having a main person on every version of the cover and next to them there is a player from that region. @ares42: It would be cool if it was based on what your favorite team was since they picked a UK team for their favorite, or should I say "favourite".

@flacracker: hehe, I'm not even British. Thinking more about how bad localization generally is in the business (to the point that many go out of their way to circumvent it) , it's a bit silly to complain about some U's thrown in here and there.

The end game highlights of just Vinny missing is amazing.

Vinny, here is my counter argument to people not looking good in yellow clothes:

Not that it makes much difference now, but the right stick makes the goalkeeper dive in a direction during a penalty.

You guys are shooting from way too far away. Also, many of your shots don't have any power because you're facing the wrong way. You're trying to shoot directly behind you, so the player is trying to swivel and shoot quickly. Turn the player, make sure he's running in the right direction, then shoot.

You're probably never going to play this game again, but something to keep in mind when if you try Pro Evo.

It's because his argument of it looking silly or whatever can be applied in reverse too. There are tons of games that do not change their English spelling. If I had to guess, Jeff would probably agree that US games should change their spellings for other regions too. There are a handful of instances in UK/Canadian English where the spelling is different. I'm no programmer but I imagine that it would be an easy change (and vice versa).

They should have the EA Sports logo even BIGGER next time to really make a difference. Hell, just have the EA Sports logo as the cover with a big 15 on it.

Why does the in-game commentary sound so muffled? Is that a normal soccer thing, for the commentators to talk from inside a cardboard box or turn the gain way down on their mics or something?

The covers have been similar for a while, Messi (or it used to be Rooney for a bit and so on. Big stars) and one or two players from the region you are in. I don't see how any of what you just said holds a point.

Why wouldn't it be localized for the US?

I could deal with the fumbling through the pregame stuff, but as soon as the shooting drill started it was cringeworthy (you're supposed to dribble inside the dotted line then shoot when the targets light up) .....ahhh...good job guys :)

I don't see how it can be cringeworthy when the game never actually tells you what you are supposed to do except for "Shoot the ball with B".

Finally! A sport I actually care about, keep up with and are knowledgeable of. Last year, Jeff or Vinny played as my team (Arsenal) so I expect some more hilarious comments on the world of football.

I guess this how the guys who are way into college American football feel.
