I'd say I'm disappointed, but I pretty much knew what to expect the first time I saw this. FP is easily my favorite wrestling series, I used to hex edit translate the downloadable moves to English for the Japanese Dreamcast Fire Pro game and post them for the Fire Pro community to download...can't say I've ever had that level of dedication to a series before. May check this out when it's half price or something. Going in with the knowledge that this isn't a true Fire Pro game helps adjust my acceptance of it.

That said - Sin Cara showing up on Fire Pro TV with the WWE title and throwing it in the trash would be fantastic television. especially if it was facsimile Sin Cara wearing a Sin Cara tshirt.

I can't believe Jeff doesn't remember Vader's awesome dumb entrance mask headpiece thing. It had its own pyro!
 
Also this game makes me sad.

I love this game, the finishers are really well thought of ultimate muscle-esque animations.

edit: as someone who owns almost every wrestling game since the NES, I can tell you honestly I have paid more for a lot worse.

Is this 5 bucks? It absolutely should not be more than 5 bucks, cause it looks kinda jank.

This might make sense for a game when the 360 avatars first showed up but now this just feels like they dragged the idea out of some storage locker & slapped together a game.

It sounded like the Avatars were constantly crapping themselves in the ring.

I tried the demo and it was garbage. This game is a disgrace to the Fire Pro name. Now I need to get my Dreamcast or PS2 back out so I can play a real Fire Pro game and try to forget about this one.

What the the hell is this bullshit? Put a proper Fire Pro up on downloading services, and not some avatar asshattery.

So, can someone tell me what the best/last good Fire Pro game was?

I thought this was an Xbox Indie game, then I found out it was 800 points...Why?

Returns for the PS2 was the last and it was released in english in America. Personally I like D for the Dreamcast a tiny bit more. Simply because it has an exploding cage deathmatch whereas Returns does not. D is Japanese only though but there are good FAQs for it.

not all games are designed to be for the "grown-up" crowd. I was watching this quick look when my 10 year old walked in and was hooked to it. So I guess that answers you question about why did they make this, because it has just been bought for him, and he loves it.

I'll go with D as well (although Returns is absolutely a great game as well, and easier to get your hands on). D being in Japanese is no problem, like said above there are translations out there that are excellent. Heck, all the downloadable moves for D are out there in English as well...I'm the one that hex edited the files and released them to the Fire Pro community wayyyy back it they came out.

This is the saddest wrestling game ever made. At least Hulk Hogan's Kinect Thing (I may be forgetting the name of that one) was hilarious. But yeah - everything here... it just looks wrong. The animations are simultaneously lazy and way too over-the-top. NOTHING looks right, even simple "take for granted" stuff like freakin' walk animations and the stance you guy has on the menus (he looks... not heterosexual, let's say). And somehow, Microsoft got the Fire Pro Wrestling name to slap on this junk? WTF?

If you're going to make a wrestling game, Microsoft, why didn't you at least hire Aki? Haven't done anything since Def Jam: Fight for NY.

EDIT: So Ryan played Gameinformer's Dan Ryckert (excellent review of this from Dan on that site, btw)? Man, the next time Giantbomb does a "Scrub League" video, like they did for Mortal Kombat, can you guys do battle with the editors from GameInformer? Honestly, the two gaming sites' whose videos I love the most are Giant Bomb's and Game Informer's? Their Replays and Super Replays? Always entertain me when you guys are not doing Quick Looks...
