man, i loved the library, playing with a mate on legendary was a bitch but it was great.

It's like I'm watching Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary through the bottom of a glass cup! Nice!

I think this looks awesome. But considering that halo 4 is coming out (in the grand scheme of things) "soon-ish" and I have just recently bought, Batman AC, Saints Row the Third, Skyrim, MW3, Gears of War 3, and Dance Central 2, which needless to say those will keep me busy for several months... I'd rather put my $40 toward Halo 4 when it does eventually comes out.

Your definition of "soon-ish" differs from mine. I'm sure it'll be down to at least 20 bucks on Amazon by Xmas.

I played it for the first time a month ago and I didn't understand all the hate the Library gets at all. The levels before or after that were much worse and suffered from repetitive design. You just had to follow a glowing ball in the Library and you were set. The tension from being chased by a never ending horde of enemies made that maybe the coolest level in the game for me.

Don't have a 360 atm (broke for the 5th time), will play this with my mate in co-op. Love me some Halo 1

I don't know if I agree with Jeff's account of how Halo was thought of pre-release. I remember it being one of the most anticipated games of that era and the E3 demo they showed pretty much blew everyone away.

The library was a bitch but at least it was way better than Cortana on Halo 3 , That´s why Halo Reach has the best campaign of all Halo games (to me) , no flood campaign was awesome the flood just sucks unless you have the shotgun at all times.

What are you trying to say about Halo 2 Jeff? The Gravemind, a flood hive-mind plant that spoke in riddles and rhymes...

Was worried at the beginning that Drew would forget to change the graphics back. Looks like I'll be picking this up soon.

I'm psyched to try out the new Firefight stuff. Allied AI is a really cool addition. It'll be fun to try to keep them alive as long as possible.

Also, I don't think the Library is all that bad. It was frustrating on Legendary because the Flood came from all directions but I enjoyed it along with the rest of the game. It didn't really stick out to me. It's kind of crazy how it became so infamous that even people who have never played Combat Evolved know about it.

Enemy design in halo is just.. awful.

The MGS QL is one of the most entertaining I've watched in a while. Do you really take yourself so seriously that you can't laugh and enjoy yourself when people don't play games the way you would?

Also, I think you forget that Jeff has mostly been appreciative of the Halo franchise. Remember his Halo 3 review back at gamespot? Or maybe ODST or Reach? Funny to read how he's totally not "shitting on Halo because it's not like CoD".

Beat this game over a hundred times, it's back for more.

He's right. The Bungie folks constantly talk about this on their podcast. E3 before ship was their worst showing of Halo. Ed Fries and Bungie went on what was called the "Halo Apology Tour" to prove to everyone that Halo was a good game.
