I don't entirely disagree with you. I don't understand why people would delude themselves to believe it is going to take over for the controller in all games. The kinect being featured like this in normal games doesn't appeal to me at all. Hopefully we don't get stuck at this stage for too long; where developers just shove in the motion detecting when it really isn't necessary at all. It definitely can be a way to add value to their product, but they need to be much more creative than this.  I actually really liked the past two Harry Potter games (Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince). They were both fairly good collect-a-thons with an impressive representation of Hogwarts. I'll probably wait until I find a cheap used copy of this one. "

To be fair, the main game is equally stupid and ill-conceived, so its difficult to really pin the failings of the Kinect portions on the device itself. As has been stated before, the problem is with the uninspired software, and this game in general seems to stink of laziness and poor execution. "

It's so satisfying to not give a shit about any of the Harry Potter stuff and just revel in the stupidity of it all from the sidelines ;)
Incredibly entertaining video guys, I enjoyed every minute of it. Between the core media about the universe, the games always seemed like the most unimaginative license trash, even more so than the movies. 
The concept of building a quasi-shooter and then having the same line of dialoge being played every time you use your standard ranged attack, just because it's supposed to be some reference to a HP spell, is enough in itself to fuck up the fun of a game. Ridiculous.

As for the game, well, so close to the holidays I am reluctant to say anything bad otherwise Santa will give me coal...or this game.
