Quick Look: Haunt

They should make a Kinect game where you explore the Overlook Hotel.. Right, Doc?

if i had and xbox, a kinect and a child i would so buy. but i dont as far as i know

This seems pretty cool. There are not a lot of Kinect games I would call "solid", this appears to be one of them.

The fact that Tim Schafer was involved in this is very much compelling me towards buying it.

Sure give us nearly an hour of Oregon Trail but only 15 minutes of this cool interesting thing. Definitely a title that pushes me towards getting a Kinecto.

Hmmm I just streamed Luigi's mansion last weekend on my livestream channel and I gotta say Haunt and Luigi's Mansion have some strong parallels. Like Luigi's mansion was a tech demo aimed at kids to show off the capabilities of the gamecube Haunt does the same thing for connect albiet a little later on in the kinects lifespan than luigi's mansion which was a launch title.

Still looks great. Would grab this for my little cousins if it was on disk. Though I smell Microsoft putting a bunch of kinect gams on disk for retail at some point.

Looks cool, Tim Shafer and Patrick are awesome.

I am willing to concede that this looks kind of neat and if I have spare time/points I might check it out.

It's always interesting to see Ryan/Patrick videos because they look just so goddamned different. Seriously, the only way they could be more polar opposites is if they were those left-side-white-right-side-black versus left-side-black-right-side-white aliens from Star Trek. Also, 80 is a lucky number in Chinese.

One of the very first kinnect games I could actually like, for kids or not.

I wasn't at all going to say that sounded like Tim Schafer.

The controls seem to work pretty well for a Kinect game but man it is still crazy that Tim Schafer is in this game.

It's a valid criticism. Nobody's bitching, but it seems like literally all of the new video content is hosted by these two. I like everything GB does, but I enjoy the sense of humour and personalities of the entire staff, and it just feels like it's been awhile.

That game looks pretty awesome. I'd buy that in a hot second if I had a kid.

If he participated in V/O during the development process, then yes - Tim Schafer DID have something to do with the development of the game. After all, his voice is DEVELOPING towards the completion of the game... :/

Considering the downloadable title nature of this title, I doubt much more could've been shown without it being something like 1/3rd or 1/4er of the full game being shown.

That said, surprisingly this is easily up there as one of the most decent looking and controlling Kinect titles going around. If they amped up the scares and atmosphere a little it would appeal to the hardcore (wonder if maybe that could be done as a difficulty modifier almost). But as a kid centric title it does seem decent enough too. Why the hell this one is a downloadable title with no marketing and Rise of Nightmares got a disc and fairly strong marketing has my mind boggling.

Wow, this was the best showing of motion controls in this whole generation IMO. It really makes me want to go get a Kinect. But seriously, imagine a dead space game like this! I would probably shit my pants.

Sold! I'll definitely be downloading this. I love the faux Disney's Haunted Mansion aesthetic mixed with the puzzle solving and exploration.

Haha! On one of the podcasts Alex and Patrick are talking about Patrick's hair and Alex says "Didn't you have like, At the Drive-In levels in college?" or something similar. I smiled. At the Drive-In are terrific.

This gameseems pretty awesome. I kind of wish they could somehow deal with the Kinect-lag a bit (shame, really), and maybe have the bounding box for when you turn be a bit less so you don't have to go toi the very edge of the screen, but movement is really clever, and the sound things are just fantastic. Cover your ears! just don't when the guide ghost talks, because Tim Schafer! AWESOME.

So yeah, if my nieces were a bit older and I had a Kinect, I'd get this and Happy Action Theatre in a heartbeat. Now, I don't. Awww.

What a neat little surprise. If I actually had a Kinect, I would probably pick this up.

Bereft of the simple, wierd whimsy that his PSX titles had. Sigh.

This is one Kinect game, I think I would actually enjoy playing.
