Quick Look: Ion Assault

Huh, I didn't know that they were colorblind. I happen to be color blind myself. I'm also looking to get into the game design industry after university, and you can be sure that I'll take color blindness into account in my work. It can be really frustrating when you want to like a game, but you can't play it effectively through no fault of your own.

Vinny and Jeff must not be big fans of Red vs. Blue.

It looks like geometry wars if the pacing was shit.

So not a game for the colourblind.

This QL reminds me of a couple of things. The ship looks like the one from Yar's Revenge. That should totally be remade. Also, The multiplayer (and the single player fields) is reminiscent of Space War. Cheers to those of you old enough to remembere either of those games.

hmm looks cool but i am not sure if i would buy it maybe wait for reviews need to learn more about it although if its $10 i might bite.

I think, these guys didn't really figure out how to play that game.

And maybe, next time watch the instruction video until end before starting versus mode .

Hahaha, aw, if it's any consolation guys the multiplayer looks kind of baffling even if you can tell the colours apart.

I played Ion Assault on the Gamescom by myself and I really liked it.  
 
But if you only watch their lame gameplay here , it looks boring. It's much more action going on if you play it right and pass the tutorial levels. Also, they didn't manage to reach the first of the four end bosses. 

Honestly, I think I'd prefer to play the 1979 version of Asteroids.  Good QL.

As it happens, accessibility is a pretty big deal in that line of work, so I and the other color blind folks here are on a mailing list that gets consulted from time to time by people who are working on color coded features to make sure that the color coding still works for color blind people.

I still get frustrated when games don't take color blindness into account.
