It looks like those arrows are just pointing out which way the moving platforms are going.
 
This is one sweet looking game though that's for sure.

Nice to see Alex over here, cause I don't really care about movies, but I miss him from the GS days.  Nice to see him popping up more on GB.

Interesting but from that it doesn't look like it really uses the shadow idea to full effect. The world looked like it could be traversed by a real person, not just a shadow. Maybe later levels will change this?

Jumping on shadows seems redundant when there's a perfectly good platforming level right in front of the wall you're running on.  Here's hoping they take the mechanic a little bit farther later in the game.  In the demo the concept feels wasted to me.

I like Alex, but he should focus on content for Screened. He's a great game reviewer, but, yeah... that isn't his primary job anymore.

The game looks great too. Been intruiged by this since I first saw screens of it.

I love the lead up to Christmas with all of the games that are coming out, meaning all of the quick looks. And this game looks really interesting.

I like Alex in on these quick looks and guest reviews. Besides, its coming up on the busy holidays, doesn't hurt to have an extra hand who has experience at being, you know, a game reviewer.

Guy keeps a young boys locked up in his tower. Cops should probably get a search warrant for that place.

I am sure that the dudes who created the recent Prince of Persia trilogy have that answer for you Alex, the dungeons in that game were insane.

It's Ico as hell. I can only hope the payoff is equivalent, otherwise they're assholes for using my Ico love to sell their product.

Looks awesome, but I can't help but feel that Hudson should have released it in September in the US as well, or simply ported it to the 3DS.  Releasing it on January 4th, when everyone is playing their xmas games, is sending it to die.

 This game has the name A Shadow's Tale in Europe, for those who are interested.    

I've been interested in this game since I first heard about it. Still looks rad, I like the aesthetic they are going for. 
 
I agree with the others who have commented that the shadow mechanic seemed unneeded in this demo, since the shadow level pretty much exactly mimicked the the real world version. But, it is only the first level, so I am hoping shit gets crazy later on and the challenge goes up a bit.

Oh Kinski.. had some great times watching his movies and interviews. There's (was) only one Klaus Kinski. :)

I like how he gets thrown off the tower and then wakes up about a billion miles away from it. 

Via several studies, it has been determined that during the process of death, a person loses 21 grams, which is assumed to be the weight of a soul, hence the shadow's weight. It's a very blunt narrative device, but serves the role fairly well.

seems like you could create a foreground that didn't look exactly like the background.  it would take more work, but would look a little more interesting (a ladder in the foreground is just a ladder in the background).  It would also be cool if you could manipulate light sources in order to change the shadows as well...still pretty cool though 
 
 
...ok - just watched the E3 trailer and you can manipulate the light at later portions of the game
