I am sooooo disappointed with this game. I wanted another RPG like the GBA game.

How can patrick say "if youve played one you've played them all" (paraphrasing)

Not counting the gba one (which was non polygonal), this is the 3rd full fledged mario tennis. Theres 3 super smash bros dont hear anyone saying "feels like theres been a million of these" about that game.

last time I checked every single mario tennis lets you hit balls "out" and I havent hit an out ball yet and have been playing the game for hours. So thats one fundamental thing from a gameplay point of view that I notice immediately.

So lets make a list:

no out balls

power ups

online multiplayer

gyro controls / street pass/ other 3ds specific things

miis / upgrades

Looking at the new features I can list off the top of my head this doesn't seem like "if youve played one youve played them all"...Nintendo isn't pumping out annual madden titles, so it would be nice if critics didn't treat it as such.

Also the view that uses the gyro controls, it naturally goes to that so often for me I had to turn the option off so I can play in 3d, kind of goes against patricks statement of "you have to awkwardly hold it in front of your face"....I usually hold my system in front of my face to use since my eyes are in front of my face lol

I have no idea why, but I`m super excited to play this.

Man, I haven't played a Mario Tennis game in a long time. This one actually looks neat. Also your guy's little Miis are kind of adorable.

i have only read bad things about this game. seems ok though. dont think i will buy it....but its no 5.5

Mario Kart 7 had a voice effect for the mii and it was god damn terrifying, horrible.

I can't wait to watch this quick look.

Some of the old Tennis games were very RPG like. There was a campus, dorms, cafeteria, you had a story and stats you leveled up for you and you doubles partner. Anyone know if this game has a story mode like those?

Those power-ups look imbalanced. You really don't stand a chance when they keep showing up in one side of the court

I heard novice here, and I notice every time he says "ofstensably", but what does he do with scenario? He just says it with a like ah instead of air sound right? That's not that weird I guess.

haha i noticed it too, he said 'NO-vis' when in the US most people say 'Na-vis'. I always get weirded out like maybe i've been saying it wrong? I know when they say melee on websites sometimes, like Dave says it like 'ME-lee', when i always said it like 'May-lay'... looking it up online the french say may-lee (and its their word so that's probably how to say it), and English say like i do 'may-lay' and the UK Brits say May-lee. So Dave says it wrong i think? Dictionary websites have that pronounce function many times, I guess they could be wrong as well though?

And, that is why I'm not worried about Nintendo. That game looks fun as hell! I might buy a 3DS just so I can buy that game. I always regretted missing out on Tetris DS.
