Quick Look: Mario Tennis Open

The RPG ones were Tennis AND Golf for the GBA. Those were fucking awesome. I feel like the others are middling at best in comparison.

It's E3 judges' week. And unless something happened this year, I'd imagine Jeff is heavily involved in checking out stuff before E3 starts.

That Super Mario Tennis was pretty awesome. And I really enjoyed the RPG tennis games on the GBC / GBA.

Oh, thank god. The game audio from the previous trailers from this game was terrible (it lacked bass, was mono and very low quality overall), so I was afraid that it was like that in the game, but it's crystal clear here.

That said,remember really digging the GBA Mario Tennis,this looks OK,though same with Patrick,loved the RPGish elements in building up your player.

I loathe the fact that Camelot made a portable Mario Sports game without an RPG mode. It's a handheld game; even with online, you can't depend on versus modes to replace that content. Not to mention, the reason they left it out - because the Miis would clash with NPCs and other art assets - is a retarded excuse. Fuck Miis. They fucking suck; they're the laziest art asset ever to be produced for a game. No joke - game characters from 1996 are better and more charming than these shitty little retards. NEVER PRIORITIZE THEM at the expense of game features!

If Mario Golf and Mario Strikers (Even though Next Level makes those for Nintendo, not Camelot) make their way to the 3DS in the future, they BEST have RPG modes, son! Fuck this Mario Tennis Open shit. I'd honestly rather play the GBC Mario Tennis on the 3DS Virtual Console than this game.

A lot of people have already mentioned this but the Mario Tennis game Patrick was thinking of is Mario Tennis on the GBA. That game is still great, this game looks lacking in content compared to that game

Sad there was no RPG element.  Maybe they'll release those games for the download service.  I was always disapointed with the lack of RPG in the console versions, it made the handhelds way better.

God! Yet another stupid spin off title! Now I have to play his stupid friends! Why are they even playing tennis? Why don't they just stick to 2D platforming like they did in the 90s? Amirite guys?

i'm not sure why, but this is the most boring quicklook ive ever seen.

ryan and patrick aren't very fun together, its just sorta plain i guess. ryan and patrick are a bad pair i think. them paired with a more active person like vinny or jeff would be better. this is just bland as hell.

So? Those are for GBA/GBC; I would like a new version for the 3DS, with graphics similar to this game.

This game looks pretty fun. It looks like a game that is best played to have fun with friends, which is a good thing. There are not enough fun cooperative games out there, let alone couch cooperative. It could also be fun for one's own Avatar to play games with and against Mario. Pretty much anything Mario touches will at least be somewhat fun. It says something that even when Mario is thrown into a sports game, it can still be enjoyable rather than a lazy cash in like many other game characters. I am looking forward to the new Paper Mario on the 3ds as well.
