the squash part with the SMB worlds is the best thing about this game.

Mario Tennis on the GBA had a great RPG mode. It wasn't just golf where they added it. And there has only been 5 mario tennis games and there hasn't been a new one since the Gamecube one.

Ryan's Mii is amazing!

I know it's weird, but I really hate the music in Nintendo games (especially the Mario games) and the menu sound effects.

Mario Tennis on the Wii is a port of Mario Tennis from the Gamecube (Tee hee!)

Wasn't expecting this, awesome. Also, the "add friend" option in local multi player does, in fact, add them to your online friends list. It's been in a couple of games before.

Was expecting Baby Mario and then Ryan complaining about Baby Mario.

I was ready to completely dismiss this game, but playing against the wall of the Mario 1-1 and other levels was sheer brilliance.

That said, all these auxiliary products of Nintendo are really starting to look and sound exactly the same as each other. Some of those assets get re-used far too often.

I'm excited for Mario Tennis since there hasn't been a new one in seven years, and it's one of my favorite series ever.

Patrick made it sound like the last one came out a week ago or something.

Not too sure about the rings of power that come up at the court, but I'll try it out and see if I like it, Quick Look still made me really want to play some.

This looks really awesome. More 3DS Quick Looks please!!!!!

Camelot? Didn't they do Golden Sun? Did the one for DS ever come out? I remember seeing it at a Nintendo E3 press conference like 2008/9? And never hearing of it again. (too many question marks I know)

@RazielCuts: Yup, came out a couple years ago. I bought my DS to play it but then never ended up putting in more than 5 hours. It is good though, called Golden Sun: Dark Dawn

Mario 1-1 wall aside this looks very simplistic. Then again what can you expect from a Mario Sports game? Just not for me I guess.

I absolutely love and played the hell out of Mario Tennis 64, but for whatever reason I haven't played a MT game since.

This one...I don't know. I really don't like those ring shots in the game. They look ridiculously overpowered and the matches seem to devolve into needing to get those shots to compete well. Hopefully there's an option to turn those off.

Add "novice" to the list of things Patrick says really weirdly, along with "scenario" and "ostensibly" (17:30). I'm from Chicago too and nobody says it like that.

@Riboflavin: It was one of the 'New Play Control' ports, designed to squeeze some extra cash out of Gamecube titles on a platform with a greater potential audience. I know the Pikmin games got the same treatment, as did Metroid Prime 1 & 2 as part of a big bundle of the whole trilogy.

I heard novice here, and I notice every time he says "ofstensably", but what does he do with scenario? He just says it with a like ah instead of air sound right? That's not that weird I guess.

They called the minigames "Special Games"? Someone didn't think that one through all the way...

Mario Tennis for the GBC had a very strong RPG element. I used to love that thing, that was probably my favorite. I've always been a fan of Mario Tennis / Golf.

Mario Tennis Open is out the 20th Ryan!! Goddammit got me all excited for nothing!

4 player doubles in Mario Power Tennis for GC or Minna no Tennis for PS2 is some of the yelliest, most heated multiplayer fun I've ever had. I think that would be hard to recreate with 3DSs, though.

And yes, the Mario Golf rpg for GBA was great! As to be expected by the creators of Golden Sun.

I remember trading my Zelda: Oracle of Ages for my friend's Mario Tennis back in 5th grade. Had a lot of fun with that game.

If you want the camera angle to be the same as the gyro controls, then explain how you would walk and control the camera with the circle pad. Camera moves left and right as you walk (unwanted camera moving) or move the camera after you start charging a shot which means you always need time to aim your shot (harder gameplay). Seems like it wont work perfectly, seems like it was made for gyro controls, thats why its gyro controls for that camera angle.

Complaining about something technical like that as if you are smarter than the game developers seems like undermining nintendo and trying to boost your own ego. I guess its human nature to do that, but can we please attempt to dial it down as much as possible for enjoyment of the videos you're creating's sake.

I don't think I've ever heard someone say no-vice before.

For some reason, Patrick screaming when Ryan couldn't hit the flagpole at the end of 1-2 made me chuckle.

Also, a random thought, but anyone know why Jeff suddenly fell off the face of the earth? I miss his jovial charm.
