I really wish this was a proper game. I'd gladly pay $60 for a dungeon crawler in the vein of Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Cyclops is great fun in this game! Highly recommended to anyone willing to spend money on a character in this game!

I LOVE THIS GAME! Playing as HULK and IRONMAN for the last few days! Game is fun and better then D3 in many ways! State of decay came out totday (aughhhh) what to play?! Last OF US REVIEWS All 10/10 or 5 star out of a 5! GOTY?

Super tempted to give this a shot, what with it being free and all. Anyone know how big the download is?

This game IS a lot of fun and the fact you can unlock pretty much everything (except like 5 exclusive costumes) via loot drops makes this F2P game a must for me. It is going to be fun trying to unlock all the characters!

Played the game for a few hours, pretty decent free to play game. Also there's Rocket Dinosaurs and Rocket Moles. WTF...

- On the team up moves some characters do have them. For the fastball special if you pair Colossus and Wolverine together they actually pull it off. The move is actually Colossus level 30 special.

@oldirtybearon: isn't that just what MUA is already?

@thelegendofmart: all of the heroes and skins etc are also random drops in game so you can still get to play as Ironman if your lucky enough for him to drop, the pay option is there if you cant be bothered to to grind for them or want to play as a hero that is not part of the starting five from the start, nothing in game is forcing you to pay for it.

@meatball: the game is around 10GB and there was a 1.6GB patch that was released before the launch yesterday.

@obsideondarman: What MUA is, is hard to find. After the success of X-Men Legends and MUA1/2, you'd think they'd keep the dungeon crawler train a rolling, but alas.

Damn thats a buttery smooth frame rate right there.

I hope my laptop can get somewhere close to that when I inevitably try this out, but I doubt it.

I dropped $15 on this game to play through as Jean Grey, having a blast so far. Good to know that everything else in the game is a random drop though.

Five minutes in and already several people talking about buying Ultimate Pack. Honestly given how much people spend on some F2Ps (and other games) it's not that ridiculous a price.

I will throw my hat into the "This game is surprisingly awesome" camp. I paid 20 bucks for Ms. Marvel and one of her costumes and don't regret it one bit.

Now then: From what I understand about how the unlocks/shop work - and simply seeing his stash - Jeff seems to have bought the 200 dollar "here's everything" bundle. That sounds about right.

Those diagonal elevators seem like they'd be a thing in mines. Maybe video games just made them up, though.

I rather play one with the anime characters, not the super hero men and womans. Shield Bash? Boring. How about a Gomu Gomu Kage Bunshin no RenkinJutsu instead?

Played the first mission as Daredevil, quite pleased so far. It seems like it will indeed be the MUAblo I've always wanted.

Eh, sucks you have to pay for decent characters and i would have rather made my own character up but i may check it out since it's free. Also seems dumb with 10 wolverines running around lol.

Having not read a single Marvel comic, this looks hella stupid and plays hella boring.

This just makes me want to play through Freedom Force again.

If you aren't interested in Marvel and don't like Diablo style games...then clearly, the game isn't for you.

I enjoyed my time in the beta as Colossus, Cyclops, Ms. Marvel, and Captain America. They actually do a really good job of representing each character's powers. I'm going to hold off playing it again until Luke Cage comes out though.

I agree with this. I am going to give it a go with a free character though. I tried the beta, but only through the prologue. Really it makes me want to play Marvell Ultimate Alliance or Diablo though.

Yeah I don't think they stated that clearly enough in the Quick Look but almost everything can be earnt or found as a loot drop except for a handful of exclusives. So in theory you may eventually find that costume that you want just from playing and not spending a penny to do so. Although obviously cooler costumes are probably gonna be pretty rare drops.

@deathtrap: I think the same thing and I love Diablo, thing is, Diablo isn't incredibly slow and you aren't running around fighting a dude or two at a time with really dull abilities, Diablo is about screen filling powers, running around like crazy blasting away hundreds of enemies. It's much faster than this and other ARPG's like path of exile or torchlight.

The stat rankings (Remarkable, Incredible, Amazing, etc) come straight from the Marvel Super Heroes RPG from the 80's. That amuses me to no end.

Violence, Rancor, Wreckage? I get it, as far as that goes, but with a character like the Hulk, why not Fix-it, Professor, and Savage?

I tried the beta and I want to get into the full release, but I'm wary of buying a character and then not enjoying their mechanics. Is there a decent resource somewhere describing how each character plays?

Well they aren't coming from a MA style background where everything has to be named (and your enemy is gracious enough to allow you to do that), but when comic characters DO name an attack you get the iconic Fastball Special...or the genuinely devastating Infinite Mass punch.
