Just shows that if you talk about doing a quick look it's needed to happen regardless on how good this game is. Shame that Rebellion did this game, every time I see videos of this game it just reminds me of the 100000% better game (esp. with the writing) using similar dismembering tactics, Stubbs the Zombie.

Y'know what, I kinda have some fondness for NeverDead. As soon as I got the combat down (slash less, roll a lot and ignore guns) and got the right set of upgrades I even had some fun. It's a weird thing that has heart, even if it misses more than it hits and the final two bosses are the worst part of any game released last year.

I'd rather they Quick Look the Neverhood.

Oh man, I've heard such tiny slivers, mostly just about how effin bad it is.

In the very beginning I thought to myself I might be crazy, because even if it doesn't appeal to me personally, the production values seem decent and it has a style all its own, which is something I strongly appreciate. Vindication came seconds later with Vinny chiming in with similar thoughts... cut to less than a minute later and I'm feeling vaguely sickened by the camera, graphics, sounds, etc... all layered on top of spasmodic gameplay of the sort that you don't need to come near a controller to KNOW it's bad.. WHY is he holding the guns like that? Is he shooting, are you sure? Why does that boss fight like that, and why does he say those things while doing it? Why is the banter between the two protagonists so awkward, cracking unfunny joke after unfunny joke? Why those camera angles WHY THOSE CLOThES

Honestly, I had to pause 10 minutes in, something I've never really done before.

It's those farts man... Those farts were too much. The clarity and isolation of the sound effects, coupled with how contextually out of place (or at least clumsy) they were, almost made me burst into nervous laughter. Nobody commenting/noticing at first was maddening, but Vinny's surprised/incredulous accusation that Brad had farted got me good... Why does it sound like that!

It's amazing how Brad can read a tool tip and then ten seconds later have no fucking idea what he was just told. 2012, a year where I did not watch one Brad quick look. Here's to another year of that!

Finally. The only reason I really wanted to see this was because Alex was never around to give more off the cuff impressions of the game. And unlike Homefront (Alex review, no QL), I don't know what kind of game this is just by a three word description, so seeing it in action is actually useful

While NeverDead may not be a good game, it amazes me how most of the Giant Bomb staff constantly manage to not take in any of the information a game presents to them.

I hate to say it, but it makes it easier to understand why developers are starting to build games with un-skippable tutorials that handhold you through the entire game from start to finish now. (and I really hate that trend)

I don’t know if it was just the way Brad kept running in circles and spinning the camera around, or if it’s a combination of the low framerate/contrast, but watching this Quick Look started making me motion sick, just like Vinny. That’s the main reason I stick to PC gaming now; the games are locked to 60fps. If it drops below 60, you can lower settings or upgrade your hardware.

And Brad really shouldn’t bother hunting for collectibles in games. They really are just there to extend the length of a game without any real benefit these days. In a year or two, will you really look back with fondness on your S-Rank of a game, or will you wonder why you wasted all that time running around for hours just to increase a number that has no meaning or worth?

I never thought I'd live to see the day...

At first this didn't seem too bad. Definitely not great, but enjoyable in a quirky low budget sort of way. But locked room after locked room full of monsters just seems like a bad time.

Properly Petting Puppies update: This grumpy looking mutt decided it was time for some role reversal. I had my camera ready as always and managed to get a shot just before he took me down for some "pets." His sizable anus was the real star of the party, or was it that mysterious cherub peeking out. It was love at fur-st sight either way.
