Looks pretty alright. Not going to play a Japanesse beta to check it out, but if it comes to the state it might be worth a look.

Is it because I never played an Phantasy Star before that I find this game so dull? Like, it's an MMO, and there are already plenty of those. Many better than this.

I thought either Ryan or Jeff was really looking forward to GW2.

From what I remember Jeff played the beta but didn't like it because it was an MMO. I don't know about Ryan though. I agree that we need some coverage of Guild Wars 2. I'm guessing that they won't start making videos for Guild Wars 2 until it becomes an Open Beta and not just for people who preordered.

I loved PSO1 & 2 on the GameCube, and this looks really slick. Hopefully someone writes an English patch for the client soon, as Sega doesn't seem to be in much of a rush, as I'd really like to play this, but don't want to suffer with the menus.

@insane_shadowblade85: As far as I know the game is not going to be in an open beta, just the BWEs before launch. But yeah I don't understand how Jeff can play PSO but not GW2, seems a bit weird but it's his opinion. I agree, we need some GW2 coverage over here in GB land. :)

@Nihilius@insane_shadowblade85 Jeff has sunk a loooooooot of hours into PSO in the past. Part of it is the lure of nostalgia. And he enjoyed Star Trek Online! The GB community has a LincolnCast for GW2 coverage from BWE.

Japanese captcha sucks, but you can do it. Open up the Wikipedia article for katakana or something, and just copy paste the symbols that you see on the captcha.

I'm suprised. I had no idea Jeff was way into PSO, and am thrilled that PSO2 is getting the coverage on this site.

I've been playing a little bit of the beta, and while I was completely addicted to the original, this seems a little goofier than I remembered. Anyway, cannot wait for the TNT this week!

I would definitely give that game a try once it's in english.

As a man who spent way to many hours in PSO V1 and 2, S Ranked Phantasy Star Universe and left it insanely frustrated, I'm very much looking forward to an english release. Hearing it's not pay-to-play or pay-to-win and seeing the improved controls clears a lot of the problems I had with the Phantasy Star series after 1.

Also helps that customizable images/emoticons are back. Was rather disappointed I couldn't make talking Dreamcasts, Gamecubes, and Xboxs in PSU.

From playing the Japanese beta it felt like they hadn't really noticed the last ten years of video games. If you really liked the older games then maybe you will be happy but they aren't majorly changing the formula. It felt out of date to me.

Does EVERY discussion about MMOs always have to end up talking about other MMOs? I hated when GW2 poped up every other topic in ToR and I don't see it as great here.

If Guild wars 2 is great we will all love it, but hey, if this is fun it can be fun too.
