Yey I'm in the GB guild now, watching this quick look while playing the game in a window. Japanception.

Watching this I feel like Jeff is explaining the function of some sort of alien artifact to me.

I signed up for the beta, made a robot dude and everything but I'm not sure I want to put the time in on outside sources just to get past the language barrier, learning the menus and whatnot. I still like it so if there'll be an English version out sometime I'll be all for it.

Went cross-eyed watching this... have no idea what was going on. Guess you need some past experience with the franchise to understand everything. 

I really hope this makes it stateside in a F2P form, even if that would be a hard sell on everyone who thinks play to win when looking at those kinds of games. :(

Yeah, Sega's Phantasy Star twitter account has been active recently showing pictures starting from the first game Phantasy Star game going forward. Wonder if there will be an announcement soon.

what is the problem with hacking english into the game? anything that makes this game easier for me to play would be awesome.

I like the idea of this game, but the graphics seem extremely dated. Is this game in development for a very long time or are they going for a retro look?

@Jeff To zoom out the map (at least on the keyboard) you just have to press M.

Why still call it Phantasy Star when it is PS in name only?

Didn't Jeff say in the TNT that this beta was only available at 3 to 8 in the morning? If so him and Brad must've got up early to make this quicklook.

This game NEEDS to be brought over to the USA and hopefully released both retail and as a downloadable title on the 360...please sega PLEASE.

I really didnt like Phantasy Star Universe but i paid for the hunters license for a year to show my support despite only playing for a month! I also bought the damn DLC and never used it and started my license again for another 6 months all in the hope that one day it would lead to a true sequel to PSO. Now its happening and you better bring it here!

PSO is a MMO now?

Looks like the game would be more fun in English. Definitely looks fun but would like to be able to play the game without having to check the other site to make sense of the translated text.

Does EVERY discussion about MMOs always have to end up talking about other MMOs? I hated when GW2 poped up every other topic in ToR and I don't see it as great here.

If this comes to the states I will be buying it. I bought a used gamecube last gen, and it turned out the guy who's system I bought was at the gamestop. He just gave me his copy of PSO because I guess they wouldn't buy it from him. I thought ok cool free game. I didn't know much about it and about 300+ hours of playing later I realized that was the most fun I had on the gamecube.

Is this game back in time?

I am oddly enticed, though I've never actually seen any other Phantasy Star title before. Seems like a nice alternative to the MMO model.
