Quick Look: Road Show: Jurassic Park

I'm not expecting great things visual wise from telltale but how stilted the animation is really pulls you out. Just asking for good enough, but worried about them managing that in time :/

I'm a huge Jurassic Park fan so I think I will try this one out. I havent played a Jurassic  Park game since the PS1 days. : (

I fucking LOVE Jurassic Park. I don't care if this movie is pure garbage still going to buy it. Just so you know I have read every Micheal Crichton book and I own all three movies.

This doesn't look as good as I was hoping it would.

This is a cool direction for Telltale to go in and I can't wait to see the game fully realized. Their track record thus far is pretty spotless, so I'm willing to go on whatever ride they're selling.

Weird. Thought this was going to be drastically different than their other games. Still point and click with some QTEs. 
 
Only problems like everyone else has said were the hitching up between success and failure and the animation somewhat. The triceratops clipped through the girl and then said wah wah failure death scene. 
And the more realistic art style is weird but I don't know what it is about Telltale games but the eye movement is just so weird. Around 1:30 is what I'm talking about. Maybe its just too much expression in the eyes or something.

The game looks neat, but the characters move like robots.

It looks a little janky in the transitions. I sincerely hope they fix that, the action sequence really got bogged down by the hitches.

Looks like I'm in the minority here thinking that this looked brutally awful overall and just absurdly badly animated.

They made a game where I can let people get killed by dinosaurs on purpose this might just be the best game ever

This game looks like ass

This game seems kinda flawed. The creative designer brought up Heavy Rain as a pioneering title that inspired this piece. But there don't seem to be many similarities between this title and Heavy Rain. This game looks, in some ways, like a step backwards when it comes to telling a story in an engaging way.
 
When the player improperly performs a button-prompt that causes a character to die, the player is sometimes prompted to do the scene over again. This means that your initial actions do not govern how the game plays out, which was how Heavy Rain worked. If you messed up a fight scene in Heavy Rain, you had to play the game all over again to correct your way. I think that Heavy Rains approach was much more elegant. But it should be mentioned that this form of narration is much more time consuming to design.

I agree with the general consensus... I was pretty interested but man it does not look smooth at all.  When the girl failed to crawl away from the triceratops and it ran right through her, yikes.  I don't know when this releases but hopefully not soon as it does not look ready.

yeesh… this looks about 1/2 way done. i'm not a fan of adventure games, but i saw the first JP moveie probably 8 times in the theatre as a kid, so naturally i was interested in this game. but man, the animation and textures need some major work. if you're going for a realistic style, you've gotta do it right. 

The character animation and cutscenes looks kinda janky. I like the idea of a Jurassic Park adventure game though. It just seems like it needs more work.

Its a great thing these guys are around. 
Bring out these franchises is genius.....now a matrix one??? please?

Hopefully they polish it up a bit... games like this aren't ever very good unless they're extremely accurate.

Looks promising - I like the idea of Heavy Rain prompts, although this could take away the relaxing, kick-back element which games like these normally provide. Sometimes you want to ponder about stuff instead of being poked with a dinosaur-shaped stick.

Fuckyear, Telltale!

When I play this game I'm going to have a really difficult time not purposefully failing everything my first time through just to see the crazy death animations.

Man, something looks really off with the character animations.

Gotta get rid of button-mash QTEs. I don't like tapping a button rapidly.

Holy crap, a Telltale game you can DIE in?!  Sign me up!

I really like where they're going with this.  It's a good blend of the action and adventure genres.  I know Telltale made their name with humorous games, so I'm interested to see how they tackle what seems to be a more serious story.  There's definitely some polishing to do, but I feel like they have a solid foundation to work with already. 
 
Also, I really need to watch Jurassic Park again!  Is that joint available on Blu-ray yet?  Pardon me a moment... 
 
Nope, not on Blu-ray yet.  What the hell kind of world are we living in?!  Oh, right.  The kind of world where the Beatles weren't on iTunes until just a few months ago.  So weird.

I enjoyed the Jurassic Park movies, The game looks like it will be fun, And also from a cinematic standpoint.

I'll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you're using here: it didn't require any discipline to attain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility... for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could and before you even knew what you had you patented it and packaged it and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now [pounds table with fists] you're selling it, [pounds table again] you want to sell it!

This looks awful. Is the entire game "press button then watch cutscene"? I thought it was a point-and-click.  
 
And it looks so console focused. Terrible.

Meh. I might get it so I can kill the characters in fun ways.

I really don't like how it has to load a bit every time you make an input, it really breaks the flow.

How can ANYONE say that this looks "awesome"?!?! Geez. Adventure games should be 2D. period! 

Nedry's canister fell on the ground and was covered in mud. Since it only protected the DNA samples for 46 hrs. they probably expired - really don't need a side story about it.
