If this wasn't £18 then I would buy it.

This is the definition of twitch gaming. 

Please tell me that's on a low difficulty setting, because there were not NEARLY enough enemies on-screen.  Then again, I do remember Second Encounter always having way more enemies.

Reminds me a lot of the original Painkiller. That game was the fucking bomb.

Wow, that was Quick Look chaos. But I think I'll save my twenty STEAM dollars for Torchlight.

This was my first PC game and first PC multiplayer game. I forgot how funny and over the top it was.

Oh man now I'm really feeling the itch to play some mindless fast paced fps like Serious Sam 1,2 or Painkiller

This was my first real PC shooter that i spent countless hours playing. I love the craziness, aswell as the music. And the final boss for both games is just ridiculous.

Seriously stupid fun. Loved this game back in the day. Now my only question is get it for the PC or 360 for points?

I approve of stupid fun and monsters without arms or legs. Heh. And anytime Ryan screams.

If it's 800 points on Xbox Live, I'll pick it up. I miss launching enormous rolling cannon balls to steamroll screaming enemies...

I love these games, 2nd Encounter especially was awesome. I'll probably skip this but pick that one up whenever they make it.

It makes me happy that Jeff is pretty good at classic shooters like Serious Sam.

Agent Pothead 420... playin' games.

Rocket jumping is just like riding a bike.

I get a Timesplitters vibe from this game but this game is way more crazy.

My eyes will bleed if I play this.  Can't blink for a second.

The font is very Watchmen-y.

I'm pretty sure Ryan is wrong about the price of The First Encounter when it first came out.  It was a full-priced PC game, which was $40 at the time (which then rose to $50 somewhere between TFE's and TSE's release). 
 
Anyway, glad you guys took a look at this game.  Too bad you didn't get to show off any of the later levels with huge hordes of enemies. ;)

Love this game played it back when it came out

 Given how enjoyable the game is, and given that it retails for less than $20, there's no question that it'll spawn countless player-made maps, character models, and modes of play, extending the game's already impressive replay value indefinitely.

This is a seriously awesome game. I've played the hell out of all Serious Sam games in co-op. 
 
The Second Encounter is even crazier though when you play on the highest difficulty cause you're almost always outside in these huge areas with ridiculous amounts of monsters everywhere. In The First Encounter you're mostly indoors (as seen in this quick look) in more compact areas. It gets more fun later in the game though.

The enemy set-up and looks always reminded me a bit of doom and heretic, man good times.

This was one of my favourite quick looks of all time!
