@doobish: If I recall correctly, they've (he's?) officially left the PC version, focusing on consoles.

Still unsure about the control scheme...

@nxau: Well they/he said they were done with the game completely, but now there are these console versions. Then recently there was a post on the Terraria wiki forums created by lead guy (only guy?) asking what people might want if he was to do an update.

Pretty sure they said a PC update is coming.

Everyone who doesn't put torches and steps everywhere in his tunnels in this game so that every last place is illuminated and accesible seems crazy to me.

I loved playing this the first time through. The second character I made was not fun at all. The early digging is not fun even on the PC version.

As far as the Xbox version of minecraft, console ignorance is bliss. Minecraft can run on a weak computer, but people love their ecksbawks and their gaming on the couch.

Steam pegs my Terraria play time at 75 hours and I never got it online.

It is a different developer doing the console version. One of the original devs stated something about maybe creating more material for the pc version. Some of the new armor just looked like palette swaps of old armor anyway.

Brad ignoring minerals/ores and such is triggering my minecraft/terraria ocd something fierce. I must boot up either game and mine some to regain some inner peace.

They really shouldn't have to update the PC release. Good on them if they do, good on them if they don't. Re-releases happen all the time and hey sometimes they're released with exclusive content. I wonder, does the Tekken community "flip their shit" since they're not getting the stuff that was released in the Wii version patched into their game...?

I mean I can understand the frustration, I totally do, but come on. Besides, I've spent almost 60 hours with the PC version at this point and I don't think any amount of new content would get me to play it again. It was fun, but I feel completely done with it.

Did Jeff make a Chapelle's Show reference?

At least add the improvements made back to the PC version. Why you can't play that version with a controller is still beyond me. Same for Minecraft. These games are NOT the type of game I want to have to sit at my desk to play.

If people hadn't bought tons of copies of the PC version, there would likely never be this console version. Offering parity to those people who guaranteed this game's initial success is the least they could do.

I bought this on a steam sale and never played it but I kinda want to get it again on 360. It seems like the kind of game I could get really into.

Got this last night with me and my friend. S happy played for 3 hours and didnt even know it

I just want to say that I appreciated that Chappelle's Show refererence.

Jeff is just trolling us (and himself) now by making Brad play the game Jeff's far more experienced with. There's no other reason for this insanity.

Jeff is not the person to get advice from for this game cause it seems like he cheated/was given anything you really needed to earn. Plus a lot of stuff he mentions like infinite lava and hellavators haven't been possible in a very long time even in the PC version.

You can totally make hellavators now. What makes you think anything has changed for that to be not in the game? The only thing I can think of is that there are crazy enemies in hardmode that damage you on your fall to the bottom. Even with that, hellavators are still a thing people make. At least my friends and I still do.

Anyway, it doesn't seem like the console version is worth getting just for the new content. I'd rather just wait for Starbound to come out. God, I really want Starbound to come out...

The stab attack made this game pretty unbearable for me. It was way too hard to hit shit and you always ended up needed to do pretty precise jumps into attacks that already required a bit of precision, and I've never been a 2D platformer guys so it wasn't much fun. Plus, you do so fucking little damage at the beginning to even the most basic enemies. I don't much like when these games do that sort of stuff because if you're fighting more than one type of enemy early on usually you just have to run away. There is a lot of running out of combat in fact, and I didn't much like that.

I always find the GB crew's complaining about Xbox Minecraft is weird considering most of them played the original game for a weekend and then discarded it, wondering why people continued to play it. Something tells me they aren't the best judge of why the game is popular.

Have always respected this game but still view Minecraft as superior. Guess it depends on taste.

@brad You need spiderwebs (found randomly) and a loom (made with wood) to make silk, which is needed to build a bed, the different kinds of ore can be used to make better tools, weapons and armors, needs the furnace to turn ore into ingots. And ofcourse most of the game is just about exploring the random holes in the ground hoping for cool gear (accessories can't be crafted, only found)

You fight with the pickaxe in the beginning, sword is useless.

Love this game, always thought it was infinitely better designed than minecraft (which I loved as well for awhile), as far as risk/reward balances went.

Doubt there'd be enough in this version to bring me back, though that map is pretty sweet.

That is quite a statement to make seeing as the game is not out yet!
