I gotta say, having played the first ASM and doing pretty much everything in it, Jeff is REALLY terrible at this game. He's making the combat and swinging look much worse than they probably are. He's not using the web rush in combat at all, or dodging guns, and city wise, of course you're gonna have problems getting anywhere if you're going OVER rooftops. Spidey works best when swinging down streets, not trying to bypass them. My main problems with ASM were just repetitious level design (fuck you sewer levels), and hard to use stealth mechanics. The fact that you can now do stealth knockouts from a distance looks like they solved one of those problems, so I'll probably pick this up on 360, where it probably doesn't look like ass (compared to other games on that console).

The fuck is with the Ben killer bit? In the first movie one of the most important moments was when Spidey stopped being on a manhunt for this guy and attacking anyone who looked similar. Now he's important again?

Geez. The first Amazing Spider-Man game was actually pretty good despite the kinks that came from it basically just being a quick cash-in that ripped off all of its ideas, but this one just looks horrible. All they had to do was take out the stealth sections and put in more robot battles and it would have been truly amazing.

I feel like the comments and buzz about this game hyped this up as a disaster but it seems.. okay. I won't buy it, but if I could mute Spidey's one-liners I would play it for a bit. Maybe.

I believe that was the first SM game to have the mechanic where your webs have to actually stick to the buildings right? Plus it was fluid as hell from what I remember

This game's UI looks like garbage, and all the text is HUGE. It looks like it belongs in a handheld game.

Glad to see I'm not the only one randomly smacking into buildings. I guess I prefer the unrealistic versions where I could swing above the buildings and avoid everything.

Why is the combo text like the most Spartan font of all time? Also, it feels weird seeing NY and the objective being measured in meters.

It's not great but seems about right for another movie licensed game.

It's a dumb argument (but when has that stopped the internet) but she refers to the murder of uncle ben's killer as that murderer being "brought to justice", which is ostensibly (whattup PK) a good thing. Moments later she says "You aren't glad this person is out there murdering, are you? You want him taken off the streets, don't you?" which seems odd considering she just said the carnage killer brought uncle ben's murderer to justice.

Not even Vinny and Jeff could make this entertaining.

I can except people calling any of the first 3? the best. Like Tony Hawk, the mechanic was mind-blowing enough to carry you through one or two entire games. The mechanic got old and adding things just doesn't work.

They need to either revolutionize the whole swinging mechanic (I can't think of how), write an incredible (dare I say AMAZING) story, or move to a whole new genre.

(Just Cause hasn't done the Spiderman game franchise any favours either for me personally)
