Regardless, I should play Twilight Princess first.  It's been sitting on my shelf for 5 years now.

Purely on Puzzles, story and combat Skyward Sword is much better than Darksiders - I really enjoyed darksiders but this is much mroe enjoyable - the controls are much faster. The speed overall is better - even though you go back to the 4 main areas there isn't an hour when you aren't seeing osmething completely different. The bosses are fantastic and by far the use of the items outways darksiders. I thought Darksiders was at least on par with Twilight Princess and WindWaker - and to some extent Majora's Mask - but Skyward sword is better than it in every way. If you truly enjoy Zelda-style games and woudl rather wait for Darksiders 2 thinking it will be better then you are missing out on one of the best games of all time. I personally thought that Okami had beaten Zelda with its use of mixing items/abilities together with puzzles but Skyward Sword even manages that. If you get SS you will not be dissappointed, don't discount it until you've played it.

I am watching this in HD... lol. Oh, Nintendo.

and I do wonder what's in the heads of those who think this looks bad. Allergy towards good fresh design and colours spurred by HD console game design, espec 360 games with crushed smushed black colour balance?

still really annoyed with terrible video quality. It is even worse with this video, is the game pretty? I have no clue cause it looks like shit from the video.

Played a bunch of it today and really loved it. Yes, it's only 480p but you quickly get over that. It looks really great.

I don't see how people can say Call of Duty is "pretty much the same game" and completely ignore that Zelda has been the same game with slightly different skins and controls for about 13 years now?

@dhvl2712: The difference is that a Zelda game doesn't come out every single year. It's been a good 5 years since the last proper console Zelda game. There's also nostalgia mixed in there and people love the characters. Same can't really be said for Call of Duty.

This QL really convinced me that I just shouldn't spend my money on this. Twilight Princess really burned me out on 3d zelda titles and, although the motion controls look cool, I don't see enough new brought to the table here.

The top one is the HD version from the Dolphin emulator, the second is the actual game on an HDTV. :|

Don't own a Wii.  Can't run Dolphin.  Bought this game.

Is it just me or is anyone else really put off by this games artstyle? It just looks so bland compared to OoT, MM, and WW.

@MrKlorox: I've beaten every Metroid game and every Zelda game and I can't say I get where you're coming from. The only similarities between Metroid and Zelda are superficial at best - i.e. you explore, and there's a map. Sometimes there's even bosses! There's SORT of the similarity of gaining items that give you better access to stuff, but even then it's just like old Zelda games in that sense.

In response to Jeff, Catwoman's whip in Batman Arkham City is the best whip in a game.

Why can't they show the waggle and remote use in the QL? They have other cameras and have done such things before live.

Even though I still don't care for motion controls, I will still give this game a try at some point.

The music sounds kinda weak. Comments, duders that have the game?

The process:

1) Start the video in HD quality.

2) Notices the horrible video quality.

3) Remembers that it's on the Wii.

4) Try to watch the whole video.

Terry (the guy on the bike) is also from Wind Waker. I'm fine with this one, actually, because Terry is awesome. That they're still using the generic "inside a house" music from Ocarina of Time and did so in EVERY 3D Zelda is far worse.

Everything looks great except the characters.Why does Link look so girly?And whats with that one girl character that acts like a direct cheap knock off of Midna complete with her signature gibberish?

it's probably just because of the parts of the game that giantbomb decided to show off, but I don't really like the art in this game. I know a lot of people complained about it, but I quite like the darker art style of Twilight Princess... and basically every other zelda game, to greater and lesser degrees. because heaven forbid that those kids should get a little scared.

I like the art style of WW and OoT but this feels so generic.
