Quick Look: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist

looks interesting; way more than the last one; and conviction wasn't too bad imo.

After watching this QL, I will probably play this at some point, but I refuse to acknowledge the protagonist as Sam Fisher. It's his younger brother Jeff Fisher or something.

Another nickname for Jeff after seeing part of this quick look: Rap Panther.

Does look like this is a more forgiving stealth game that I'm liking after seeing the quick look & enjoy the ubisoft Normandy copy as the hub. Always enjoy the games like this where you can just relocate bodies to where you can imagine the one guard or janitor later finding a stack of dead bodies & how they might get slightly worried about their survival after seeing that. Would love some weird mash up of what Jeff said where this game just went to some Need for Speed espionage/racing game.

At this point the previous games and their accompanying stories literally have no baring on this series.

It's kind of organised in the sense, you either liked all the earlier games or you like the newer revamped/some would say dumbed down version of Splinter Cell.

Looks pretty good. I will definately pick it up when it's $20!

Patrick seems to be the new stealth game guy and between dishonored, mark of the ninja and his pre-e3 interest in Thief, I would say that stealth games have been, at least given a chance.

I've played all of the games in the series. I feel obligated in a way to check this one out as well, but there are other games I want to play right now (Saints Row 4) that I feel would be a better investment of my ever so limited time. The $60 price on PC is also holding me back from just buying it on steam right now.

But man, this QL is making me think this is a game I'll enjoy playing. Augh! Conflicting feelings and tough decisions.

I've played enough of a friend's copy of this game to ensure that I'll probably get it at some point down the line.

This might be the most interesting Splinter Cell I've seen in a long while. Sure Sam's voice change is weird but I'd get used to it. Might have to check this out.

This looks AWFUL on xbox. rough textures, bad frame rate, bad lighting. I guess thats the effect of a old ass console.

I disagree. It looks great. Frame rate is a solid 30. I have not seen the PC version, if you tell me that looks much better I believe you. But this is a great looking game on 360 compared to other 360 games. This is not a Saints Row IV equivalent.

I Redboxed this game about six hours ago. I turned on my PS3 and fired it up....and the game fucking sucked. I just came back from my local 7-11 after returning this turd.

If you're in the market for a stealth-action game, I'd personally recommend Dishonored or Deus Ex: Human Revolution. You can probably find both titles for much cheaper than Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Seems like it might be a pretty fun game to play, if you could get past the whole trite "hey, we're America, and we're saving the fucking world" bullshit.

You can disagree all you want, but most of what he says is quite accurate. Just compare the texture quality on Sam when you're in the Paladin to actually in the game. Good lord the difference is incredible, the consoles clearly can't push that same level of texture quality during actual gameplay but it doesn't pose much of an issue on the isolated airplane. His suit looked like trash in-game. The shadows are extremely low resolution too, most of those tree shadows looked like patchwork.

This game is pretty fun. Got it free when I got my Gfx Card and the digital Deluxe Pre-order makes it alot better at the start since you get more to choose from since money takes time to get. Voice Actors to me were fine and Definitely Advise anyone on the fence to get it. It is alot of fun.

Watching Jeff shoot that dog over and over was just horrible, it made my feel goods hurt.

It sounds stupid, but I don't think I could ever play this game because of Sam Fisher's voice. I realize you can't expect the same guy who voice a character for years and years on end, but they didn't even try to match Michael Ironsides' voice. I would have preferred this just be a reboot and maybe I could have taken it seriously, but if you're telling me this is the same guy as the last games it really bugs me.

You mean the guy who has continuously said stealth is a shitty genre and have only just recently been good because you can bypass most of the stealth aspects?

I thought it was a reboot as well with a younger fisher, so the new voice wouldn't bother me. But now that I know its not the voice was kinda weird but over the course of the QL I got used to it. It's not a too big of deal.

Looks like they improved and added a lot from Conviction. From what I saw in the QL it looks like this may replace my favorite SC game from Chaos Theory to Black List. Looks pretty solid.

I'm going to try and go 100% stealth. I think trying to sneak in and grab those HVT's is a cool touch. So you could just sneak around everyone or try to get him. Seems like I could play through these missions atleast twice. Game looks solid. Just with Saints Row IV and FF XIV A Realm Reborn, this will be on my back burner for a month or two.

HA! ZING! Also, it's Tom Clancy, what else would you expect? Every single Tom Clancy story, wether he has actually written it or not, is exactly the same. I love, love, love Splinter Cell (except for Conviction which I utterly detest) but I couldn't tell you a single story beat from the former games. Something about....terrorists? And bombs? I dunno, I would probably recognize every single level (man, that CIA level was so effin amazing) but the story? NO-PE. I couldn't actually remember who Grim is, I just remembered her name.

Yeah, I'm a single player guy and this voice actor sounds stupid and the story seems kinda dumb. And the multiplayer looks unbalanced.

Unless ironside quit i don't see how you get rid of one of the most iconic voices in videogames.

Been playing this game quite a bit and its a pretty good for a splinter cell game.One can actually play this game as a shooter or as a stealth game.

You get actually points for each playstyle during a mission:

-ghost points (for sneaking around and being non-lethal)

-jaguar points (for sneaking around and making stealth kills)

-panther points (for killing stuff and being generally a bit noisy)

Playing this on realistic level which is quite enough for me. I dont even want to think what the game is like on the perfection level.

Though ghost points net you more in-game cash so the game kinda directs you to play stealthily. The cash is used to buy stuff (gadgets, better armor, weapons) and also to upgrade them. You can also upgrade your headquarters.

I like that Jeff doesn't use the ACOG because he doesn't like magnification. It's a third-person shooter, the only thing that matters with the scopes is the stat change. Except when playing as Mercs in SvM, of course.

What the heck ?! Did Conviction ever happened or was it just in my mind ? This looks like a sequel to SC 3 or 4, not 5. And this looks just... generic. Not necessarily bad, just "Ubisoft Game #14". What the shit !
