Quick Look: Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark

Just for the hell of it someone should do a Gobots reboot.

@counterclockwork87: The fourth movie is getting terrible reviews so I wouldn't hold your breath.

That first movie had a lot of weird racism, and I remember it being so bad, I couldn't believe people were saying the second one was even worse.

When I read "Robo-Diablo" up there, I had my hopes up for a Transformers isometric action rpg, like Future Cop LAPD, but with Transformers and rpg elements... kinda bummed :(

Hey, Transformers? Would you turn off the dark?

My problem with the new style transformers is that if you blur your eyes, they just end up looking like the old low poly unreal or quake dudes.

Oh and I don't understand why Shockwve doesn't just turn into a huge, flying laser gun. You know, like in the comics and tv series.

The Transformers films are supernaturally awful, but the games have been totally solid lately. I'm interested to see which one wins out here.

The wave mode looks kinda alright..kinda. But I wouldn't pay $60 for it.

I didn't realize there was another Transformers film until this quick look.

After how boring 2 and 3 were I don't really care. It makes no sense to me why those movies made billions of dollars. I guess maybe everybody needed a nap?

Seriously, though. This game looks bad. I think they tried to make a better game here, but it is less appealing looking than the last two. Unfortunately I also worry we'll see the closure of this developer shortly after this games release.

It doesnt help that I dont care much about transformers these days. Oh well.

Nothing about this is intriguing to me, but maybe it has to do with the lack of any proper art design mixed with the terrible looking characters. I could see someone be into it, if they were huge Transformers fans, I guess. It just seems to be so fucking generic, holy shit.

Every time they say Dark Spark, I think of Darkspore.

How is it possible we're getting the FOURTH Transformers movie before even one sequel to Armageddon or The Rock!?

I give few fucks about a Transformer, especially the Michael Bay version, but this game looks alright for what it is. Something to pick up in the "bin of five dollar games" at Gamestop a couple years from now.

I wasn't a big fan of the previous games but I sort of enjoyed the multi-player for a bit.

I know you guys are short staffed at the moment, which is why Drew is doing so many QL's, but can you please do some Jeff/Drew QL's in the future? They are absolutely DELIGHTFUL.

I read the top line of this and thought you were going to complain about this duo. I was getting ready to write a scathing reply until I read line two!

All I wanted from this was a best hits from the two games running at 60 fps and 1080, on Ps4..

I got the 1080, but thats it, the game actually runs worse than the first two, glitchy as hell, and the earth levels look like models straight out of a PS2 game...

what they shouldve done is, possibly re-release the second one with some perks and extras, and polish up that online.
I wouldve been so fine with that.

This looks not fun. At all

I don't think I've seen a third or first person shooter just look this empty and lifeless for quite a while. Even open world games have more going at almost any given moment. Say what you want about CoD, at least stuff is happening in the level, and the single player campaigns can be enjoyable on some weird B-movie level.

Don't people generally like these games, despite the quality of the movies? I dunno man, this looked bad.

edit: looks like Edge of Reality made this not High Moon Studios, so that might explain why

Man, the High Moon games were fun guilty pleasure romps for me. The multiplayer was surprisingly good, too. This looks so half-arsed.

I love the implication from the credits that Activision is the anti-matter of the universe.
