I mean, ahem...Commenting within the first few seconds and the game looks pretty cool. A lot more animation work done on the character. A lot more detail in general.

@conmulligan: What did you run through the game? How about the challenges? Game+? Unlocking everything? 4 hours seems fairly short. Though it isn't about time played it is about the experience. Bastion can be a very hard game if you want it to be. Seems like Transistor is following this trend. Combat system looks great. Excited to play.

I... don't know. I didn't like Bastion. At all. Not one bit. Not the gameplay, not the aesthetics, not the narrator. I know Transistor is a different game, but it's still a Supergiant game, and it shows. I've barely seen anything about it pre-release, though. I'll try to keep an open mind.

Edit: After watching the QL... yeah, not the game for me, definitely. Oh, well. Wolfenstein it is, and Mario Kart 8 in a few days.

Wow, I watched the first 2 seconds of game play and had to stop. It looks so amazing I don't want any of this game spoiled! Onto the Wolfenstein quicklook instead!

@fantomspower: I mainlined it without really doing any challenges. Honestly, 4 hours was just about perfect for me. I loved that game, but I wasn't chomping at the bit for more once I was done. I'm glad they've gone in a new direction gameplay-wise with Transistor.

Looking forward to this game.

God damn it man, I so want to like supergiant's games because I just so fucking LOVE their style. Just all around their games look and sound so good, and the whole vibe they give off is so appealing to me.

But I dropped Bastion after a few hours because I just didn't like playing it, and I didn't feel like I was REALLY getting a narrative delivered to me that provided me with any excitement, even though, again, I loved the style with which it was delivered.

Looking at this, again, I just love the style of it so much, but I just don't know that it looks like any fun for me to play...and that still bums me out, and I'll still probably buy it and try it out of some weird desire to like it.

Now I just have to decide If I'm going to play this or Drakengard 3.

Wow, I just about to write something similar. I can certainly understand why anyone would be excited for this game, it just doesn't appeal to me. They implement style so well that I wish them all the success in the world despite my stupid tastes.

I think that SuperGiant Games game's are pretty neat. I don't think they are the return of the prodigal son, the second coming of video game Christ. But they are lots of fun and you can feel the love in them.

I watched about 60 seconds of this in total. Now to patiently await the PSN store update. I am ready.

I'm sorta in a similar situation, though I didn't find the art style of Bastion to be all that appealing. They're definitely the sort of games that I can respect and appreciate from a distance, but Bastion didn't exactly set my world on fire (love the soundtrack & narration, though) and I'll very likely never play Transistor even if I do think it looks exceptionally pretty.

So pumped for tonightttt...Already got some good beer and dinner prepared. I just need to sit down and dive in once I get home from work...CHEERS BITCHES

first cutscene after the motorcycle came up black for me, and it doesn't look like i can go back or start a completely new game. i can't be missing any of this art dammit!!

If only I had a device which would play this game.

I remember the flourish function in the KoTOR games. I went around the galaxy waving my sword every two seconds.

Looks cool. That narration got old pretty fast though.

Aside from the 'style' that a lot of people are mentioning, which is a very subjective thing, the game just seems extremely lackluster. That voice over narration , similar to bastion, just seems to add to the sense of boredom.

I think this, along with Bastion, are games I really wanted to like, but I just can't. Maybe I'll give it more time to grow on me....but it just seems....soooooo...boring. Maybe there is a gem hiding underneath, I'll have to see

Basically it feels like there's nothing happening so it needs to be filled with constant mindless narration that makes the game even more offputting.

First time in a long time I'll play a bunch of the game before even watching this.

Man whatever Bastion had that made me like it so much Transistor just doesn't seem to have at all. Which is really sad.

@sharkman: I agree this seems like a snoozefest.

I get the feeling its hard for the people at Giant bomb to distance themselves from the reality of knowing the developers well. A lot of this quicklook is just references to them.

As such I see a built in bias, though I don't think that it's deliberate.
