It'll also be interesting to see if this shoe pops up in the game at all. You might remember that EA did two pairs of shoes with Adidas for the original Skate, and the shoes popped up in-game on the skaters who were represented on the shoes themselves. The in-game models are actually on the soles of the shoes.
The neat thing--and the thing that led me to buy both pairs from the original game--is that when you encountered those characters (and their shoes) for the first time, the game would stop and pop up a coupon code that you could use to get the shoes at a pretty decent discount from Adidas' online store. Pretty innovative cross-brand work, I thought. Plus it didn't hurt that I actually liked the shoes. Here's one of the two types from the original game, which I just so happen to be wearing today:
